A good unit to get started with
I like the fact you can get accessories for this machine so you can do more jobs with it. I don't like the cable getting caught on the gantry when moving back and forth.

A well engineered and easy to use machine , simple to setup and use - HOWEVER
I really enjoyed the simplicity of the setup, and ease of use. Pleasantly surprised that it connected to WiFi flawlessly using the xTools Creative software. I can now operate it in the workshop, while designing and sending files over WiFi. Much better than cabled, and did not have any difficult configuration to do. The unit, in motion, tracks well, is precise, and does what it says - EXCEPT, there is no way this will cut 6mm wood (even soft) single pass as stated in the item description. The best it could achieve was 3mm soft craft ply. On a double pass, it burns the wood quite markedly and always triggered the smoke alarm, requiring a reset. I would not recommend purchasing this for wood cutting anything more than 3mm soft wood, and then expect to sand and dress the wood afterward if you don't want to see burn marks spoiling the surface. I will be purchasing the Air Assist module at an additional cost just to try and get the stated performance for cutting wood. If you want to cut wood, buy at least the 20w version. Out of the box this does not perform on wood the way it says it does.

READ - This Review is for NOVICE/STARTER Toolers ONLY!
First-off - I don't have enough words to praise how awesomely built this product is. The Red color makes it look better than any other competitor in the market. Now coming to the review part. I am hoping this review will not be taken in negative way, even though I am going to only mention the downside of using it. However, these downside only applies to New Users.OKAY - so you are super impressed with what you can do with laser cutters/engravers, have seen bunch of cool videos from professionals on Youtube and now you think 'I CAN DO THIS'. Well - Here is the REALITY CHECK1. This tool has a huge learning curve around measurements. If you have struggled your whole life until now between Inch, CM, mm - Do Not Buy this product. Everything is Manual. Some might say semi-automatic, but again; if you struggle with measurements - this product won't make it easy for you2. No Camera - This goes back to point#1, since the tool does not have projection camera to capture image of the item you plan to cut or engrave, there is a possibility of a lot of errors and waste of material.3. Assembly - Although, I will say assembly is super-easy. There is a possibility that someone might tighten the belt too much resulting in error, or break the delicate wire connector or even worst, drop the lens. If you do buy it - just look at the assembly video on YouTube and avoid instruction manual. So What Should You Do?Save some money and buy - xTool M1 10w.WHY?Well - because it is ready to use out of the box. It has a camera to capture the material image and project your design on it. This is so insanely awesome, that you can literally design things with minimal mathematical calculations.Who should use this tool?If you know your stuff, have been engraving for a while - This is a very economic product and will do the job just as fine as xTool M1 10w.xTool - If you make these distinctions clear in your product comparisons, I think it will reduce the number of returns and exchanges will happen. Also - There needs to be a very articulated training videos/lessons for newbies. I did see some videos, but they are a half-hearted attempt.

X tool laser
This laser went fine the first times used but now it keeps stopping in the middle of projects. I have tried everything in the forums. It's a problem that happens and no one has the exact answer. Very expensive hobby toy that only worked hor a few projects.
