I purchased this DVD player for my friend who recently discontinued her cable service because it was getting too expensive. She wanted a DVD player so she could still watch some movies. I have since watched movies with her on this player at her apartment. The screen is the size of an advantage laptop. It is easy to use and the sound quality is very good. She bought the blue one and it is also very attractive. I do recommend this player.

I purchased this and a set of headphones so that I could watch "television" (via DVD) at night in hotel rooms without keeping others in my party awake. I tested the unit at home, and it will be fine for my purposes.I'm writing this review mainly to correct an inaccuracy in a previous review. (There used to be a "comment" option that I don't now see.) The unit does have an "off" switch on the side, next to the power cord plug. The button on the unit's main (top) panel only turns the screen on and off, so there would be a continuing battery drain. The side switch controls the power.

This is our fourth DBPower DVD Player. We would recommend this product to anyone, any age. Good performer, easy to use.

I know this was an Amazon’s Choice and I can see why. A great player. User friendly. Clear picture, great sound - even though it would be ideal if the sound volume could go up to maybe a 25, but it still sounds great at the 20 max level. So just to be clear, when the player is charging, the light is red and it is steady - it’s does not blink. When it’s done charging, the light is green. And when the unit is in play, the light is green. There is NO BLUE LIGHT anywhere on this unit as it states in the manual! Apparently the whole light color thing has confused a lot of people. Perhaps older models had different light colors?

I love being able to carry it around and watch my old DVD’S. Easy to use. The screen is a nice size, it’s better to watch movies. Battery holding up good. Worth your money. No complaints.

Edit: received new player 1/12/24 and it works great! I’ll edit again once I’ve had it for a while. Excited to use it.Followed instructions and it doesn’t play. Just chatted with an online agent at DBPower who quickly understood and was easy to communicate with. She had me submit a video of the problem. She requested a replacement player which might take from 3 days to a couple of weeks to receive unless there are fulfillment problems. I will update this review once I receive it.

The idea of a portable DVD player is to be able to watch DVDs without having to be plugged into an electric power source, hence a charged battery.I do not watch DVDs for an endless 5 hours. Does the battery life last that long? I don't know. I do know that when I charge the player to green light full, after sitting for 8 hours and not used, I have to plug in and charge again since the battery is dead, needless to say, that is quite frustrating to plan on watching something only to find that I can't use the player. It seems as if there is no true 'power off' just a screen off so there is a continuous drain on the battery.The instructions say to charge the battery at least once a month, so far, since I have received this, it has been charged 3 times with a total of 45 min of usage.The little bit of usage I have had for viewing, the picture is fine.I have not put batteries into the remote control because, well, there is no sense in using a remote on a player that is on charge.Well ... If I could give a zero star rate, I would. After charging again, the battery was dead within 4 hours of disconnecting the charger without ever even turning the player on.PURCHASE AT OWN RISKSo, for 3 weeks in a row now, I have received offers from DBPowers of a gift card... First offer $40, second offer $50, and now another offer of $60 if I change my star review to 5 stars.Please note, the single star review still stands.Woohoo.... And now an $80 offer!Nope ... I stand by my review.

Amazed at what my Title delivered. The Case is as good as any other plastic Next is the Sound. Now I'm listening to K.D. Lang in a quiet room at Volume level 3 and it's almost too loud. And it has 20 levels! Really don't understand the squawking. Guess some people think you should get Bose at this price point. The Pic is great. Understand $75!!!!
