Crash hazard d.t. failing rivets, manufacturing defect
The chassis of this product connects the binding to the roller base via four exceedingly weak rivets, either a manufacturing or a design flaw. Mine sheared off all at once under one foot while in a busy intersection - it was akin to slipping on a banana peel - it sent me crashing down hard, loss of consciousness _with_ helmet, and enough body trauma to now be sitting out Thanksgiving at home, too nauseous to eat or drive. I was lucky - I am a very conservative user, never exceeded 3mph in all usage, and am an experienced athlete - the potential for crippling to lethal injuries with this flaw is very real! I reported my experience last weekend, urging a recall. Now that peak shopping time is neigh, I cannot in good conscience sit idly by without posting the warning, since the company has not moved to date. Caveat emptor, this is seriously hazardous!

Toe frame rivets sheared from roller base.
Just had the same problem yesterday as the previous poster! I like the product concept, however...The toe frame platform rivets sheared off from the roller base during an ascent! Lucky for me I had just completed a huge 2 mile descent then just began a long climb. It was more inconvenient than anything else. Had to walk home a couple of miles carrying what should have been carrying me. Emailed the retailer Skike.me yesterday. Haven't heard back yet.

These are awesome. I had the original fixed base (no lift) skike. The difference was like night and day. I typically skike on grass for increased resistance and I utilize the 'classic' cross country ski style. The feel is about as close to XC skiing as you can get, I also think the increased motion makes for better workout. I had the same issue as the other posters. I wound up drilling the rivets out and replacing them with round head hex screws, lock washers and a nut. I crazy glued the screws for an added measure of security. I also recommend replacing the quick release axles with a carriage bolt style axle as I tend to knock the skikes together sometimes.
