Ukulology: Clip-on Ukulele Tuner (includes Battery & Instructions) (Black)

I've just started playing my ukelele and have found this little thing invaluable. It sits on the end of my uke and fits easily into the front pouch of my gig bag and is really easy to use. The one button makes it really simple and the screen is really clear. Really useful piece of kit when I'm still learning what all the notes should sound like and good for getting it EXACTLY in tune. Really, really pleased with this purchase! So far, I haven't had any problems with the battery but I make sure to turn it off straight after I've tuned and to fold it back down out of the way, (there's no reason for it to be on once I have tuned my uke). This is a really good little tuner!

Very cute little tuner, far smaller than I imagined it would be, but then so is the soprano uke. It was so simple to use and very accurate. As a beginner, I had spent most of Sunday trying to tune it by ear using various websites and apps. The sounds varied so much depending on which site you were on and I ended up downloading loads of apps which were of no use at all and I still wasn't confident that it was actually in tune.I was so relieved when this little tuner arrived this morning. I just wish I had bought it at the same time that I bought the ukulele as it would have saved me hours of frustration. It feels nice to handle, is well made, it fits on the head of the ukulele securely and the screen is very easy to see. The letter and/or number glows green when you correctly tune the string. One thing I did learn from all my efforts was to tune up (ie loose to tight) rather than down, Definitely one of my best buys.

I bought this clip-on tuner partly because it gave a £2 discount on 'Ukulology:Ukulele Course for Absolute Beginners' (which I am). I am pleased that I did so because I received a tuner which looks well made and is very easy to use. Having set the mode to Ukulele (the tuner also works for Chromatic, Guitar, Bass and Violin but will remain in Ukulele mode without any further resetting by me), the display colour changes to green when the strings are tuned to G, C, E and A (it even displays the string number i.e. 1, 2, 3 or 4 associated with each note). I imagine that I will be constantly having to retune my new ukulele. I now know that this will be an easy and reliable procedure.

Works well. I had originally bought it because I wanted a tuner that only worked for ukuleles as it was for my young son and I didn't want him switching modes etc. When this arrived it turned out that there multiple modes available, which wasn't quite what I was after, but the controls aren't on the front so we're working with it. The tuner itself is really simple and easy to use, even for someone like me who has never even tuned a guitar in my life and now I can tune a ukulele!

I've bought two of these (a black one and a red one) and am very pleased with both. They are neat and compact, and the clip works well to keep the tuner in place, and has soft grips so as not to damage the uke. The tuner is mounted on flexible joint making it easy to angle the screen for viewing while in the playing position. The screen is easy to read, and the colour change when in tune is a neat feature. They have different modes for a few instruments. I the uke mode it not only indicates the note, but also indicates the string number that should be at that pitch, which I guess would be very useful for a new player. I only really use it in chromatic mode as I don't need the string indicator - in this mode it is just like a standard tuner for any instrument.I have bought two because I often gig with both a uke and a banjolele, so this saves me from swapping it over mid gig. At the introductory price (£7.50) these are an absolute bargain.

This tuner works really well and I was pleased with it....until I found that the battery was flat whenever I went to use it!! [ 3 new batteries later.] The instructions say that the unit will switch itself off after 3 minutes of inactivity, but clearly , this was not happening! I informed Amazon of this and received an e-mail from Ukulology, the third party supplier, on 28/12/17, asking me to return the unit to them, so they could investigate the fault with the manufacturer. They offered to send me a new one, together with a ukulele capo, "for your inconvenience". It was a friendly and apparently helpful message, which I appreciated and accepted. And it came through Amazon Marketplace....unfortunately, I have heard nothing about it since [ now 1/2/18] !! I would very much appreiate a response....and a tuner that will work without consuming a complete battery every time it is used.

A brilliant little tuner, which is easy to use, easy to store in your uke bag, and accurate too. I use mine every day, and have recommended it to my students. Just about every student of mine now has one of these, and even the seven year olds have no difficulty tuning their own ukuleles now. Saves me a great deal of time, and gives them independence with their music, both at home and in their lessons. If you play the ukulele, I'd definitely recommend this tuner.

Awesome device - so easy to use even for a non-musical person like myself needing to tune my son's ukulele who is a beginner. Highly recommend. When I saw this I honestly thought it was too good to be true but it is ideal to use to tune and keep on the instrument. Also has options to change for tuning other instruments. Hadn't even thought about the battery so was pleased to see the battery was included when it arrived! Great price for this little device.
