Scratchings on steroids!
What you have here is quite frankly the best of both worlds. These are delicious crunchy porcine chunks boosted with really moreish black pudding seasoning. There's really a complexity of flavour coming through in each bite. In my opinion, they've basically improved upon a classic snack and made it that much more addictive. I'm normally partial to neutral flavours and was rather apprehensive about getting a bunch of these for fear that it might turn out 'over-seasoned' or worse, simply get sick of it but now my biggest gripe is that these 45g packs they come in are way too small! I'm either too greedy or in need of more protein. Judging by the gaunt appearance of my hand in the image, it's probably the latter.... and a perfect excuse to wolf down more of these gorgeous scratchings to fatten me up. With this order, I got 8 x 45g packets, pasted on a cardboard. I've gone through 5 packs and so far, the packets are well sealed as each one's offered up crunchy, fresh and flavorsome scratchings. The pieces are a decent size, with a good proportion of crispy rind and fat. I got lucky a few times and got chunks that required 2 good bites or for some, perhaps, it'll qualify as a big mouthful. There are small bits too and these are like black pudding scratchings on steroids! Intense flavour rush! Enough said, these scratchings are pretty impressive and I have a feeling they might just become part of my staple selection of junk food. Yum!

Wouldn't say they tasted of black pudding if someone gave ...
Wouldn't say they tasted of black pudding if someone gave me it and told me to guess the flavour. But they are tasty

YUK!!!!
I was looking forward to receiving my order, which looked amazing on the page. What a disappointment. They were covered in some sort of powderwhich had a really strange chemical flavour. The crackling, far from being light and crunchy were rock hard. Hard enough to remove my fillings!!!!!"They were horrible. I only ate, 2 pieces the rest went in the bin, I would not recommend these.

A good low sugar, low carb snack alternative to crisps, nuts or the like.
I was very disappointed with this as I did not find it particularly strongly flavoured, in fact, I did not think it was particularly flavoured at all if I'm entirely honest. So, I guess I should consider the pluses and the minuses. First the pluses, the packs are supplied on a card backboard to which they are all secured, this is a kind of "pub landlord" style I know some people like and prefer to other sorts of packaging, it is itself contained within a plastic bag so its packaged well upon receipt. The card could be easily secured to the inside of a cupboard and then its just a matter of opening the cupboard and tearing away a pack any time you want one and you can see straight away how many remain and if you want to get more or not.The packs are all individually in foil wrap style bags, it keeps them fresh for sure and there is no likelihood that they will burst or tear upon in a crammed cupboard, drawer or picnic hamper in the normal run of things, I'm sure they would pop open if you deliberately stamped on the bag or something like that but in the main its all packed well for storage and freshness. The rinds themselves are dark in appearance, exactly as pictured, they are a great size, no broken small pieces (or scrapings of the factory floor, as is often quipped about other brands) but, and this is for a snack brand of which it is pretty typical to begin with, it is very dry. Not salty, spicy or strongly flavoured, they have a sort dusty or dusted exterior and are just really dry, thirst provoking, to eat. Not exactly unpleasant but also not liable to make you want to eat a second pack right away. The quantity is not bad, its better than most I've seen for sale in the supermarkets or discount food markets but its not an out sized or extra large bag, just snack sized.

Best Pork Scratching ever?
There's no point trying to pretend Pork Scratchings are in any way "healthy" but by gosh, when they are done right they are downright tasty. And these Black Pudding ones are fantastic. They full of big pieces with a good balance of the crunch and the fat. The Black Pudding taste isn't over the top but I could definitely get the sensation of it which just added to the all-round excellence of this product.I will happily buy again and will probably make them my Pork Scratching of choice from now on.

Black pudding and pork scratchings - an ideal combination
I love pork scratchings and I also love black pudding. So I was more than keen to try black pudding flavoured pork scratchings - which sounded like an ideal combination. I was not dissapointed. Openshaws have created an extreamly tasty pork scratching which is good and crunchy without being too rough on my teeth. You can really taste the black pudding. There are some small bit (which still taste great) but most of the scratchings in the pack are of a decent size. You get 8 x 45g packs. I do like my snacks and Fresher Foods Openshaws black pudding flavoued pork scratchings are one of my favourite.
