I was blown away with the intricacy and the craftsmanship. Well worth the money. Cannot wait to see my daughter's face when I give her this beautiful owl bookend. Well done! Delivery and packaging were prompt and well packed.

I was pleasantly surprised when I opened these bookends. They are real, solid wood not some balsam knock-off (though not real heavy). The carvings have a good amount of detail and each end is carved a bit different. The finish is smooth and unblemished and appears thick enough to withstand my toddler's industrial strength saliva attacks. While not high quality art, someone took a lot of care in carving and finishing this product. The height is not quite the 17 cm estimate but closer to 15 cm. I'm planning to use these for my child's book collection and they may not be heavy enough to hold tall heavy books but I am more than happy with them as they are. I plan on getting more.

These look lovely on my bookshelf and are sturdy enough to hold heavy books. Definitely recommend the. Although not the cheapest, they are so well made that they are value for money....and a bonus being fair trade.

Beautiful designed, very nicely carved. You will not be disappointed. I know that these are a bit expensive but if you want some quality items then these are for you. Before these I also bought the cat and bear bookends; these were also of great quality. I am a very happy, chappy - my flat looks fantastic. I am very pleased. Thank you, Amazon !

These were purchased for an owl loving, ardent reader as an 80th Birthday gift. When I received the parcel I decided to look at them before wrapping them in gift paper, I was really delighted with the quality of the carving and superb detail. When the gift was presented it was immediately placed on a display shelf in a prominent position. A wonderful gift for anyone. Highly recommended.
