Oxford Monster Disc Lock Yellow - Sold Secure Gold OF36M

Bought this in 2015, used on my various motorbikes since. Still going strong, nice and solid and fits onto the brake disk easily. Would recommend based on almost 9 years use. Don't think anyone has ever had a go at it, but to me it feels like it'll stand up to a lot of damage - especially with a gold rating.

I’ve had this a while now & the night before last someone stole my motorbike.However, they couldn’t get through this disk lock! Although the yellow casing was smashed, the couldn’t remove it and my picture here shows the only way they could remove it. By smashing the actual brake disk!The lock still works perfectly, which is amazing considering the abuse it suffered as they tried to remove it.I just wish I’d bought 2 now - one for each wheel. I imagine that they’d have woken someone up with all the noise of them trying to bash both off.Highly recommended even though I lost my motorbike.

The yellow case of my lock is reasonably visible. The lock is small and easy to stow under the saddle of my bike. I know it will not stop someone putting my bike on the back of a truck but at least it stops people wheeling the bike away. It is easy to fit and with a reminder cable… easy to remove. The key is asymmetrical which to a little (not much) getting used to. So far, I am happy.

Tricky to get it to fully shut to lock, but appears robust.

Solid, but make sure you lubricate the keyhole and the holes where the shackle go inside as if its tight the disk or chain it can be a touch awkward to remove, will NOT fit the 2017 Honda PCX front disk or rear wheel as i intended but i just double up the padlocks on my chain so all is not lost

The product images provide by the seller would imply the 'Gold series' consisting of a lock, cable reminder, lubricant and case. However these aren't mentioned in the description. The lock itself is good and sturdy but without the other items the images would suggest hence the 1 star rating.

Good quality, sturdy, robust and well made. Bright colour to attract attention to the fact it is there and big enough to put off a potential thief. I have no doubt that a professional thief would be able to get past this lock, like many others probably, but this certainly adds security whilst also acting as a deterant. Fits my Peugeot scooter perfectly and the reminder cable is a great addition to ensure you don’t forget you have the lock in place. It isn’t a cheap lock in terms of cost, but then it’s hell of a lot cheaper than a stolen bike and increased insurance premium.

I run this through my disc brake on the front of my SV650 when I need to leave it for a little while. It pops on real easy, pops off just as easy, the key is no trouble... It's great.Bonus points? Unlike the Kryptonite u-lock I was using before, this one fits in the side pockets of my backpack so I just leave it in there all the time. Never have to worry about forgetting it when I go out.Also, it's brightly colored. I'm not going to miss it.

This is a solid and in the case of yellow, very visual theft deterrent. Does that mean it will stop a bike thief? No, but like outswimming your buddy from a shark, this is really meant to make your bike less appealing to a lazy thief than the one next to yours that has no locks. Lost stars because of bad listing promising included accessories.The lock is sturdy. The key mechanism is sticky and not symmetrical (half-circle key blade). So, it only goes in one direction then turns to release the latch.The problem with this particular product (and perhaps this listing - from a 4-letter storefront - UNCP - on here) is that despite what anything on this listing page says it did NOT come with a minder cable or a pouch. If you're prone to forget this is on your wheel you might want to look at a 3rd party minder cable to provide a visual reminder to you before you try and drive off with the lock installed. Also because it's heavy and metal, it would have been nice to have the Oxford nylon pouch included. However, that is also not provided.Contacted the seller, but they said despite their listing they didn't have the lock with the cable and pouch. They fixed their product description table on the listing, but you might see the Oxford graphic advertisement near the top of the page that still mentions minder cable and pouch included.Bottom line: Good lock, missing helpful accessories. Not going to really stop a determined thief, only annoy them. It's a theft-deterrent not a theft-preventer, but that might be all it takes to make a lazy thief move on to the next bike over.

The lock is sturdy and feels pretty robust / heavy. It comes with extra keys. I've had no problem fitting it to the front disc on my NC750x, and once on there, you get the feeling it isn't going anywhere without serious criminal intent. It attaches and detaches easily when unlocked. BE PATIENT. The keys don't feel super sturdy - so don't be in a rush to twist them and accidentally snap one off. I like that this lock is high-vis yellow / green. It is a good visual reminder that the bike is locked...both for me and others looking at it. I hope it never gets tested!Two things that should have come with this lock, especially given the price point: A soft storage bag (Just fabric or nylon bag would have been good enough) and a reminder cable to stretch up to your brake lever. I added my own reminder cable, and found a little bag to stash the lock in so it doesn't knock around. For the price, this seems like both should have been in the package.
