Good product let down by very poor software
Very easy to install and link up with the gateway but it goes downhill after that. The software (both app and website) is so basic it's next to useless. All the data presentation is high level so you basically get no detail on historical data. Graphs can be expanded, no data export (without writing your own interface to the API) etc etc. I had a similar system years ago that was way better software wise so there's no real excuse for this poor showing.

Great Idea ! not so Great Software
So the installation of this is very easy just click around the mains power cable in and connect to the Energenie Hub and its connected. The Power Monitor is let down by the App firstly for instance my power is 11.77p per kw you can’t enter that into the app at all once you have connected the device to power unit and it starts sending its starts showing random Kw readings judo and down constantly inconsistent to correct reading from actual Smart Meter no costs are shown and the actual navigation of app is useless. So with all the Great Options that Energenie has you would think they would develop this a bit better but it seems like it was a rushed product to get it out quickly same as the Window Sensor that also has a lack of support.PROS:- Easy to connect to Power - Single Clipon to Mains lead in White Mete box Outside house- Great that its a part of Energenie easy to sync to App just a sync hit of the connect button whilst app is open and its connected.- Great that it shows the KW Used on the APP- Easy to input Cost unitsCONS:- Doesn't refresh correctly seems to lag not be correct cost.- Signal Drops out completely for no reason- The App Energenie is lacking development for this section unlike dedicated power meters that have an APP that works with Graphs with Usage Graphs up to date information etc, Energenie just doesn't cut the mustard.- Like many of these add on from Energenie think they were just rushed unfortunately. So to conclude it was a great idea but Energenie just didn't develop the app enough it just doesn't work properly unfortunately, same as the window sensor and the PIR Sensor they are all add ons that just work by a shoe string if your lucky.Note: I Spend a great deal of time taking the care a time to write these reviews for your help please click this was helpful to just give me a sense of its all worth it :) please I do love doing it but takes an awful long time to do so please for a few milliseconds click that button for me ;)

Not accurate and now broken
Fitted this as I needed to replace the Owl electricity monitor (who decided to start charging way after I purchased the product making it actually useless)Wanting to support energinie as they are a uk based company and had some interest in supporting the tinkering community with their raspberry pi interfaces so I invested in this. Simple install (it’s a current clamp) fitted and started getting figures out. The software is a little rough and it’s no way as good as the Network Owl software but it worked but the values seemed a bit off. Not a small amount off either. Maybe the network owl was wrong as current clamps aren’t exactaly accurate but it felt about right where as this didn’t.Then I noticed it seemed to be stuck on 480 odd watts. Now I know my baseline figure isn’t that by any stretch so it wrong and so far out it’s useless and now not giving the right output so effectively dead.Replaced with the Shelly EM which works and has added functionality as well (but has to be mains powered so not a direct replacement but the current clamp goes in the consumer unit )Can’t recommend energinie for current monitoring I’m afraid and I advise to look elsewhere.

Inaccurate
This device is very easy to install and to link up with the Energenie gateway. But it has severe limitations. It measures volt amps and not watts despite what the energenie app reports. It’s spec says it works up to 7200VA. Which is max capacity of one ring main.I have 2 ring mains, 2 lighting rings and a central heating ring so my consumption could be well in excess of 7200VA.Quick estimate tumble dryer, washing machine, dish washer, kettle and 2 electric ovens ~ 13KW. Must check sometime what it actually reports. So lets just say that this device is an indicator of when you have devices consuming a lot of power. I have had it 15 weeks and the batteries now report they are 4.05v. Do not know when they will stop working. So it could be expensive on batteries. My smart meter says I am consuming 445 watts. The app for this device says I am consuming 592 watts!! So before buying this device ask yourself what you want from it and will it actually give you what you want.

Great system - Saved me trouble loads of times
I have two of these devices - one on the three phase house supply (purchased the additional 2 cables) and one on a feed going out to my Koi pond. We are unfortunately rather big energy users with a koi pond (several pumps and a drum filter), heated greenhouse, an electric car and an indoor swimming pool with a huge three phase connected air conditioning system. I have never had an issue with the 7kw limit on the system so I'm not sure what these people who have issues are doing.I find the system seems to overestimate my bill if anything which suggests it isn't topping out very often. Estimating my bill is not why I got the unit however the house meter does that. I can open up the Recent usage graph and see at a glance if the car has finished charging or that the pond system is working properly - without trudging out to the garden and into the pump house. On more than one occasion it has saved the fish when we had a pump stall and a fuse trip. I can see if the drum filter is over cleaning due to low water levels or when the heat pump turns on + how often it goes into a defrost cycle. It has allowed me to analyse the air-conditioning system on the pool and save money by tweaking the temperature profile. All in all a really useful bit of kit and support was great when I was setting the system up to.
