Ledlenser P17.2 Professional LED Torch (Black) - Gift Box, 9417

I bought this torch as a gift for my father.I've heard good things about Ledlenser in the past, good reputation, long lasting, bright!This is actually the first time I've ever used Ledlenser. And the fact that this is the biggest, brightest, second most expensive model in the P series (excluding the R models), expectations were high! It's also worth noting that this is the second generation of the P17.Information regarding the first generation is very mixed, but from what I could gather from the official listing of the P17, is that it only emitted 220 Lumens, and weighs 798g. And considering this generation emits up to 450 Lumens and weighs 778g. I would call that a worthwhile upgrade!So I was expecting a lot with this torch, even more so as it wasn't even for me! I can tell you here and now, that this torch does not disappoint.The first thing you'll come across when the torch arrives, is the beautiful presentation/gift box that the torch comes in. It's this soft matte black finish, almost feels like rubber. It is a bit bigger than the torch itself, so it's very hard to make out whats inside, other than the Ledlenser logo on the front. The inside however, could be better. I found the big white specifications area a bit of a downgrade over the outside of the box. It's only a little thing, but considering this is a gift box, I found it a tad tacky. Only a small issue.Inside, you'll find the torch itself, 3 x D batteries, some litterature, and a belt clip.The torch itself is made of this matte black premium aircraft-grade aluminium. Very sturdy, but somewhat heavy. It weighs under a kilo at 778g, but I couldn't see anyone holding this for a prolonged amount of time. It has three levels of brightness. And is not rechargeable.It's got a focusing lever? Not too sure what to call it, which can be supposedly be operated with one hand, but my Dad found that claim a bit stiff.As for the 3 brightness levels, Low Power, Power, and Boost. Low Power being the dimmest with 50 Lumens, Boost being the brightest with 450 Lumens, with Power in the middle with 350 Lumens.There's no proper way to select the modes, you will have to flick through them by turning the torch off and on again.Another thing I noticed, is that neither myself nor my father could find a way to keep it on Boost mode permanently. From what we could see, the only way to keep Boost mode on is to hold down the on switch other wise it will either switch on of turn off, depending on if it was on or off before you held it down.But no matter which mode you select on the torch, it's fair to say it's VERY bright.Even with the Low Power mode, if you focus the brightness (by either pulling up the head of the torch, or pushing down on it) it still ends up emitting a very bright source of light.The P17.2If you do purchase this torch. I would advise that you leave the warning sticker on, just to remind you that this thing can cause serious damage to your eyes. I imagine having it on Boost mode, fully focused, would be like staring in to sun 10 inches away from you!So my overall verdict?This torch is well worth the money. There's not really anything else like it our there, and considering you're getting up to 30 hours of battery life with a blazing 450 Lumens running. Great torch, brilliant distance and beam size. Batteries last pretty well, I can take it out on about 4/5 dog walks before I notice a drop in brightness, always great for scouring the area ahead. Belt clip does seem like it will scratch the torch as it grips it incredibly tight but that’s the only fault. Definitely worth buying rechargeable D cell batteries or stocking up from amazon as they are way way cheaper, as you’d expect to pay upwards of £4 for two in stores.Would probably serve you well in self defence too if it came to it as it’s got some nice weight and is defiantly robust enough to take blows, which is piece of mind to me when walking through spooky woods!

This is my second LED Lenser and they are both fantastic. Incredibly bright beam that reaches the end of our garden (about 170ft) and beyond. Good weight and feels perfect when handling. No hesitation in recommending.

I had previously bought the LED Lenser P7.2 Pro and was very impressed by the solid build quality, clarity of light and brightness. The P17.2 Pro delivers all the same benefits, but is much bulkier. The P17.2 torch requires 3 'D' batteries end-to-end, whereas the P7.2 houses four AAA side by side. Given the extra weight and size, it's not a torch you can slip into your pocket or carry around for any length of time. It does have better reach and casts a wider diameter of light, but it's not significant enough to pay the extra money for. The P7.2 Pro is all the torch that most people ever need.

Excellent product, exactly as described. Heavy, solid, powerful. Use for light as well as self-defence.

Lampe torche de très bonne qualité et fiable, belle finition.lampe très puissante de 450 lumens réel et pas comme d'autres fabriquant qui annonce des 10000 lumens ?, pour un faisceau de 420 mètre environ.Pour ma part, j'ai plusieurs lampe de la marque Led Lendser et jusqu'à maintenant je ne suis pas déçu.je vous la recommande sans problème.

以前、使用していたLEDライトが少々暗かったため、もっと明るいLEDライトはないかと探していた所、見つけたのがこのOPT-9417です。そして、家にこのLEDライトが発送されてきたのですが…。まずLEDライトのデカさにビックリ！おぉ…、写真で見たものより凄く大きく感じる…。そして、材質がアルミニウムのせいか、凄く堅くてずっしりとした丈夫そうな作り…。…何というか、ちょっとした棍棒みたいなライトでした！(*ﾟ∀ﾟ*)これを照らして歩いていれば、女性や子供でも余裕で深夜のウォーキングとかできそうです。（周囲を明るく照らせる上に、重いので筋力の強化も兼ねることが出来ますしね！）光量は申し分なく、凄く明るくて、どんな暗闇であっても先を見通すことが出来るため、とても重宝しています。そして、スタイリッシュなデザインと凹凸のあるグリップも良い感じ！握った感触がとても良くて、シッカリと手に馴染んで、とても持ちやすいのが印象的でした。LEDライトとしては金額は高い部類ですが、それを補って余りある性能なので、決して悪い買い物では無いと思います。最後に、一緒に単一電池スペーサーとベルトホルダーを購入しておくと、より便利になるのでお勧めですよ。（お勧めの電池スペーサーとベルトホルダーは、別の商品項目でレビューしてますので、良かったら見てくださいね！）

Muy recomendable en ambientes con escasa luz y sus 450lm dan para mucho, el reglaje de foco de luz perfecto.- Incluye ademas 7 años de garantía.- Acabado negro mate en una estructura de aluminio muy bien terminada.RECOMENDABLE 100%Este fabricante es de lo mejor en linternas para trabajo, ocio, desde unos tristes 16lm hasta 1000lm. Según la utilidad que le vayas a dar hay muchos tamaños, modelos y diseños a elegir y la verdad todas en generla son fabulosas.

Arrivato il pacco da amazon l'ho aperto all'interno c'è la scatola originale ancora sigillata senza polvere al suo interno come descritto da altre recensione, la pila esteticamente si presenta molto bene come design ed estetica non mi aspettavo che fosse così bella, è tutta in alluminio davanti c'è una lente non sò dire se è vetro o plastica, una volta messe le batterie (n.3 di tipo D) diventa un pò pesante, quello che pesa di più di tutto sono le batterie perchè la torcia è leggerissima, il pulsante di accensione fa due funzioni la prima volta si accende al massimo della luminosita lo premete la seconda volta si abbassa la luminosita, la terza volta si spegne, l'ho provata al buio pesto in mezzo alla campagna posso dire che come luminosità massima mi aspettavo un pò di più ma comunque posso affermare sempre che al massimo della luminosità ci si vede benissimo dai 120metri ai 150metri illumina bene in profondità arriva anche a 300metri come dicono, ma se illuminate un muro di una casa ad esempio bianca o gialla allora vedete il fascio sul muro se illuminate degli alberi verdi o con foglie secche di sera sempre al buio pesto a 150metri non vedete niente di illuminato in fondo ma vedete il fascio bianco della torcia che emette perchè è difficile illuminare qualcosa di molto scuro a una grande distanza, allargando tutto il fuoco di sera sempre a illuminazzione massima si vede benissimo dove camminate davanti a voi x evitare buche, fossi ecc. in illuminazzione bassa a fuoco tutto allargato ci si vede bene camminando al buio pesto nella illuminazione in profondità fate dai 30metri ai 50metri in bassa luminosità, se rimanete a piedi con la vettura è scomoda da utilizzare per guardare sotto al motore perchè è lunga e pesante non potete fissarla in un punto preciso per avere luce serve qualcosa di più piccolo che sta in una mano ed eventualmente riuscireste a tenere il fondo della pila in bocca per illuminare dove vi serve, ci sono versioni più piccole e maneggevoli ad esempio la led lenser P5 - P5.2 - P7 - P7.2 che non ho ancora avuto modo di comprare che comprerò prossimamente, la consiglio per chi fa escursioni notturne nei campi e campeggio xchè un pò grossa, non ho ancora testato se dura 300 ore in bassa luminosità come dicono.In fine concludo che è un ottimo prodotto e addirittura ne ho acquistate due in totale.
