A great and well priced iron!
This iron is everything I could hope for and has made ironing a breeze. The cable is a great length (longer than my previous iron) and the cable grip/tidy keeps it out of the way when ironing. The iron glides effortlessly over all fabrics and irons well. The constant steam is a great feature especially adjusting to the type of fabric you have set on the iron. The water tank is a good size and unlike other reviews, I don't think that it is difficult to see when it is running low!The only criticism I have is that on the handle, one part of the plastic makes a click sound as I place the iron back. To be honest, this is due to the way I hold the iron (with my thumb against the side of the handle) so I haven't marked down the iron in my review.A fantastic and well priced iron!

Great everyday iron - well made
This item replaced another Philips Azur product that I have been using for over 6 years. It has a good weight to it, feels good on the hands when used due to the soft finishing handle (underside). This is also where the steam burst button is. It is a decent size and responsive on press. Good location for it, I iron school uniforms and shirts frequently and this feature is a must for these. The iron is equally as impressive for thicker sweat shirts, trousers and jeans. The steam can be on or off. I had numbered options on the last one but it was either on max or 0 so I don't miss it. The opening for the water inlet swings to the side rather than bottom to top, as on previous models. I find this much easier for filling with no spillage. The steam jet is strong and responsive. Heavy bursts on command. The water jet provides good coverage and hits the target. The element heats quickly even on the highest setting. The cable tidy is handy but I haven't used it yet. As a person who belives in a well ironed shirt with noticeable cuffs and colars, this item ticks the boxes for me as a man iron. :-)

Very good but quite pricey. Look for a deal
This is a very good iron. It produces a good stream of steam and has a great shape that allows you to get between buttons and into all those awkward little places. I previously had a very expensive steam generator (that broke after 2 years) and this iron is nearly as good. My only gripe is that it is quite expensive for an iron. Within a week of buying it through Amazon I saw it for half price in Tesco! So keep your eyes open for a deal.

Love This Iron
After a lot of research and pondering I ordered this iron, I had read loads of good and bad reviews on lots of irons but my daughter has had this iron for several years and has been very happy with it so I took the plunge. Was a little concerned that it might be on the heavy side but it isn't, it irons really well with a decent amount of steam, the water does go down quite quickly so needs topping up frequently, I like the pointed end to get in-between shirt buttons etc. There is no water jug with it but I already had one of those but it did come with a useful clip to clip to the ironing board to keep the lead out of the way. I really like the iron and would buy it again, the only very slight disappointment is that the older version had a pull-out calk container in the back but this one doesn't.

It irons well!
Had to buy a new iron when husband decided to clean the (non-stick) surface of the old one with a brillo pad.... I had been very happy with the old one, pre-accident, but this one is, if anything, even better, so I've forgiven him! The water fill is easy, despite no little jug as with previous iron - still, how many jugs do you need? The weight is satisfactory and the heat is quick. The best 2 features are the little gadget that clips to the ironing board to keep the flex out of the way of the bit you've just ironed, and the automatic cut-out that switches the iron off if you go away and leave it for more than 8 minutes - brilliant! It irons between and underneath the buttons, too. Would recommend highly.

Ironing is now a pleasure
This is definitely the best iron I've ever had (and in 48 years of married life I've got through a lot).It gets creases out at the first pass of the iron. No more going over and over the same bit.The instruction manual is very clear. I made a point of reading it after some of the previous comments.Yes it's too easy to move the dial as you're ironing but it makes such a rachety noise that you know you've done it and it doesn't move far.Yes the settings for dry iron (top), Eco - using less steam (middle), and full steam (bottom) behind the purple plastic slider are a bit difficult to see, but there you are: I've just explained it to you. These minor details are nothing when the performance of this iron is second-to-none.I used to leave the ironing to my cleaning lady, but now I enjoy doing it myself!

It is easy to get so used to an everyday item that you don't notice its deterioration in performance. My old iron was doing ok, but this one was being sold a t a good price over the Black Friday event so I looked at the old one, also a Philips. The stand was broken away in umpteen places where I have dropped it on the floor; the soleplate teflon coating was worn away for about a centimetre from the edge and around the steam holes, and there were a couple of scratches on the soleplate; other than that it has done me good service for a number of years. It does not have a particularly narrow end so it was not easy to do frills or gathers, but I have managed.I bought this iron - I don't do much ironing these days anyway, most things will be fine if I just hang them up carefully, knocking out the creases. I have only given it a go once, on a couple of pillowcases, one of which would never get smooth. It is great to use, smoothed the difficult pillow case beautifully and is a pleasure to use. I might even be tempted to buy linen next summer!
