I was introducing my 15 year old cat to a new rescued 14 year old cat. After some initial yowling matches at the room divider we decided after a couple of weeks we'd seen enough improvement to let them get face to face. Big mistake, we instantly had a fur flying, claws out screaming fight. We were devastated, thought we'd jumped the gun and ruined their relationship forever and the new cat would need to go back.Feliway Friends was a last roll of the dice. The cat resuce had recommended feliway and we had been using the standard purple spray, but they didn't suggest this red "friends" product which is clearly more designed for our situation. I would say after about 3 days I started seeing much less alarm and more calm interactions at the divider, and after a week or so started to feed together without the divider. I think it just took the edge off enough so they could tolerate their presence. Fast forward to today, 27 days after I started using it and we had our first evening last night with both cats on our laps. I suppose I'll never know for sure if this diffuser really made the difference, but I know enough to recommend it.Also with 2 days to go of the "30 days", I'd say there's at least a third of the bottle left so it's slightly better value than advertised.As for the smell, it's barely detectable unless you stand right over it, and what you might pick up occasionally is actually quite a pleasant buttered popcorn aroma, nothing harsh or chemical.

We used this for our new rescue cats who were hissing and fighting a lot. The hissing stopped very quickly and help them to calm down.

We have a usually placid and lovely natured cat who completely forgets who her female companion is any time we need to take her to the vet. It seems the smell of the vet overpowers the usual scent she gets from her. We were genuinely concerned when it was almost 5 days in and she was still growling any time she entered the room. Bought this plugged it in and within 48 hours all was calm and she was over washing her friend like she hadn't just been horrible to her for nearly a week. Its small discrete and does exactly what it claims. Will be buying in ahead of any future vet visits.

It does work well but so expensive

I bought this product as I have 5 cats who come have been adopted from different houses.Introducing the new cats has led to some tension between the cats and I bought this to help calm them. It's been a few days and it seems to have made some difference and they are generally more tolerant around each otherThe product has no noise and is a plastic screw bottle into a plug socket, it doesn't generate any heat and doesn't have any noticable smell.Overall a good product that seems to do what it claims.

DO NOT BUY....There was a smell that grew in my house that I couldn't... 'put my finger on', it was making me feel really quite ill, it was worse in the bedroom than the living room, then I remembered that I had plugged the Feliway Friends unit, into the plug in the hall, upon inspection the unit was coated in oil and had belched oil onto the surrounding area, I know these units are supposed to get a bit warm, like plug in air fresheners, but this scared me, not because of extreme heat but because it had spat out the contents and the unit was covered in more than a light film of liquid, in the instructions they bang on about how it is safe if used properly, but to have the nasty liquid not staying in the bottle did not make it feel safe... The smell which is only meant to affect cats, but in a good way, has had a greater effect on me than the cats... I will never buy this mode of delivery of the substance ever again, horrible, I do not recommend and to add insult to injury... after I had filled in a return form,( I have had this product for just a week and have legitimate reason for return,) it came up as non returnable, even though it faulty or something is wrong with it, I feel like I have paid to be made to feel somewhat unwell, not on... if a unit is faulty, I should be able to return it... Disgusted, DO NOT BUY, I read loads of reviews before buying, thought it sounds like a good idea for harmony in the house, but I would rather put up with their growling, spitting, hissing and disharmony, than feel and smell something strange...It hadn't even been plugged in long enough to have an effect on the cats... very unhappy, DO NOT BUY, DO NOT BUY, DO NOT BUY, you have been warned... they also make an aerosol of the pheromone, I feel it is the hydrocarbons, I was smelling, not the pheromones... yuk,yuk,yuk, I would need a lot of convincing that these units are actually safe to use...
