Does the job it is meant for.!!
I ordered this 2 weeks before my Financial analyst's Level 1 exams as i had bought a wrong calc before. it arrived in about 2 days for free delivery. that is quick!!The calculator feels sturdy and durable, heavier than the other casio engineering calculators. The keys need a little hard pressing compared to the engineering calcs, but then it is just a matter of getting used to.They also provide you with about a 200 Page booklet on how to use different functions of the calc. All in all, worth a buy. this definately is better than the other HP calcs around.

Great for CFA Prep, but Lacks a Protective Case
The Texas Instruments BA II Plus Professional Calculator is an excellent tool, especially for CFA prep. The functionality is top-notch, and it’s easy to use once you get the hang of it. The variety of financial functions is a lifesaver for exams and professional use alike. However, I was disappointed that it didn’t come with any protective case or cover for the front. Carrying it in a backpack feels risky since there’s nothing to shield the screen and buttons from damage. A case would have made it much more practical for daily transport.Overall, a fantastic calculator, but the lack of basic protection is a missed opportunity for such a professional tool.

Great calculator
As expected. As other review mentioned, these buttons are a lot more stuff than the regular TI-BA II version. But, I actually like the "click" feeling that you get when you press the button all the way down - and, I feel like it really reassures me that the number was entered in (and I don't have to glance at the screen to check it).I bought it for the CFA exam. I already have the regular version, but it's nice to have two for the exam, just in case you run out of luck and your battery dies. This also has a few useful functions that the regular version doesn't have.

The worst calculator I've ever had to buy
This is the worst calculator I've ever used and I've been forced to have one for the CFA professional qualification. For the last month i've been using this everyday in an effort to become used to it. There are just so many limitations to this calculator. Its like taking a step back 20 years and paying £40 for the privilege. Here are the negative points I've noticed.Cumbersome decimal point system - Having to set the number of figures after the decimal point (It can't do this automatically) If I wanted to round my answer to 2 decimal points, I can do it in my head, I don't need a calculator to truncate a potentially valuable longer figure. No scientific display - You need to keep a good mental picture of what you want to enter before hand.No BODMAS - Calculations will go in the order you type them in. Nightmarish for longer formulae.Button presses need to be very firm or you'll run the risk of accidentially not pressing hard enough and missing a number.Positive pointsIt has tables stored for many financial calculations.I despise this calculator.

Get two and look smug at the exam =P
Latest model at a reasonable price. Not sure why others complained about the buttons being too stiff, passed my CFA exam without any physical (the jury is still out on the mental one) injury. It also has the net future value and discounted payback period function which the less BA Plus calculator doesn't. It might save you an extra 10-30 seconds at the exam and let's face it, you need every little edge you can get.P.S. Those who prefer HP calc for their CFA actually enjoy pain? /discuss

Does the job but quality is not great
Overall it’s good. Does the job as intended. However, mine had issues after 2 months of use. Where the times button malfunctioned and as of today it completely stopped working. Not sure if it is a battery issue where it needs to be changed but if it is the be aware of that the battery does not last long and it is a good idea to change it before taking the exam for no surprises.

needed one for my CFA
Really good financial calculator does what it should do. works a lot faster than a scientific calculator, things like IRR, scientific can not work out but BA II Plus Professional Calculator can, just what I m looking for

Best choice for CFA
There are only 4 calculators allowed for the CFA examinations:* Texas Instruments BAII Plus Professional* Texas Instruments BAII Plus is very cheap looking and lacks functions.* HP 12c is over-priced and has not changed much since the 80s.* HP 12c Platinum is twice the price of the BAII+ Pro, yet has far fewer functions.Although the BAII+ Pro is made out of plastic, it looks and feels far better than the BAII+ (non-Pro version). This calculator is the best choice for people who also like to perform some tasks manually, instead of simply feeding numbers blindly into the calculator, which is the only option for the HP 12Cs.Links:Texas Instruments Advanced Financial Calculator BAII PlusHewlett Packard HP12C Financial CalculatorHewlett Packard HP12c Platinum Financial Calculator
