This is a great feeder, very nice and compact but not too small. Pleasantly surprised as the photos don't show it but it comes with a full chain and hook to hang in a tree or on your feeder.There are some comments about the lid being hard to remove but there was nothing hard about ours and the clip design for the lid is very clever with a wire circle through three stiff springs, allowing it to fit firmly but be removed easily though not by birds.. or squirrels for that matter.We filled ours with sunflower hearts. The mesh is just the size for these to fit through so ended up with a few going straight through but once there was enough volume, they all stayed put and it'll be easy for the birds to get them out.If you're using them, maybe put the feeder on a plate when filling.We will see how it fares longer term but for the price, it's hard to see how you could go wrong and it fits in really well with the Autumnal colours in the garden.

It's exactly as it appears in the listing - always a good start.It seems perfectly strong enough. The wire mesh of the container itself is sturdy, would not be easily dented.It's a smart design, and has a tough pull off lid. I suspect squirrels would really struggle to open this.It has its own hook which firmly grips onto branches strong enough to take its weight when filled with sunflower seeds...it's new to the garden so just waiting for the feathered friends to feel safe to use it.

Seems very good. PreDrilled holes in base ensures rain water doesn't pool inside spouling bird seed. Great idea. Only problem bird seed falls out easily through holes as holes are quite large so most suitable for peanuts or large black sunflower seeds so only 3star

Sturdy product, but it is not suitable for standard size suet pellets as the holes are very small. If you can get hold of small pellets it would be an excellent product. I tried sunflower hearts inside the feeder but they were too small and just ran out.

I think these feeders are great but have a flaw.the bottom round metal section is holding water and the seeds either sprout or rot.Just have to aware.I put a ball of tinfoil in the bottom so will see if that helps.

Really sturdy feeder, definitely wont get bitten through by squirrels like my last plastic feeder did (lasted about 2 weeks)! The squirrels do still eat from it though, but they end up spinning round on it, because the chain rotates. Quite amusing :) The lid is sprung and quite a tight fit, so might be difficult to take off if you have any dexterity issues.

Absolutely useless, because of cup shaped metal base it retains moisture and seed goes mouldy

Lovely bird feeder, sadly no birds as yet but looks nice in the garden, and live in hope that the birds come. Notice that the bottom of the feeder now has holes so if the seeds get wet the water will drain off. Several previous buyers did mention the problem of the seeds lying at the bottom of the feeder going rotten. Looks like the problem now sorted.

I ought this despite the negative reviews because I liked the design. I have since bought a second because the first was so successful at attracting birds in our yard. We have eight feeders, six tubular 16 inchers, but this one, and the second that I have now purchased, are the most popular among the birds. Sturdy, easy to clean, and easy to fill. Plus, the birds must assume so many strange contortions to get to the feed; very amusing.

The smaller birds seem to dominate for a change, and that is a plus for me. I like the larger birds also, but they chase the small birds away. With THE ball the smaller birds have a better chance. AND THE PRICE IS RIGHT.

...leider wurde sie aus den USA geliefert, eigentlich versuche ich diese Langstreckenbestellungen zu vermeiden. Hat sich aber doch auch gelohnt, denn die Kugel ist schön, einfach zu befüllen und die Piepsis nehmen sie sehr gut an.Noch einmal zu Versand: erreicht hat sie mich in einer schlichten Folienverackung, in der sonst Bekleidung verschickt wird. Kein Polster, kein gar nichts. Das spricht sehr laut für die Stabilität des Produkt, aber mal so gar nicht für den Versender.
