Imagine it's a Saturday, 9pm at night 2 days before your daughters birthday and you've promised a rainbow cake. YOu've made the cake batter and for some unknown reason you decide to read the bottle of food colouring you have and it says "not bake stable", what this means is that it turns a kackypoo colour when cooked, trust me I tried.So in a mad panic and a flurry of frantic messages on fb and baking forums these were recommended. I almost had a heart attack at the price and postage, but I'd made a promise and a promise I was going to keep. I click BUY.They arrived, another batch of cake mix made, split into 6 and a tiniest amount of these colours added. FLIPPING HECK, the result was fabulous. the colours so bright and vibrant. I was so bloody pleased with the result. I used such a tiny little amount i don;t think i'll ever have to buy food colourings again.My daughter was really happy with her cake and our technicolour cakes are always the first to sell out at the school fayre.Well worth every penny.

My daughter has been asking me to make her a rainbow cake for a few years now, and I've finally gave in. I bought these a few months ago but it took me a little longer to attempt it. I shouldn't have worried; these colour gels make it a fairly easy cake to make. They are easy to mix in the batter and give beautifully brights rainbow colours. The result was nothing short of stunning and I'm not much of a baker. On a slightly serious note, there is firm evidence to suggest that artificial food colouring are quite harmful, in particular to children. We make an effort to ensure we do not consume artificial colouring in our food, toiletries and cleaning materials in our day to day lives, and this certainly isn't a product I would use on a regular basis, not even in small quantities.

Used these to make a rainbow layer cake. I actually made a white velvet cake as the base to help the colour be brighter (no egg yolks and buttermilk). The cake was fabulous and was well received. Didn’t need to add much colour to the cake mixture and the cake tasted delicious! Highly recommended.

Item delievered as 6 loose bottles in a bag. Great vibrant colours for my first rainbow cake and the kids were wowed and impressed. Downsides were some of the pastes were difficult to mix in, if you don't take your time over it you could end up with bitter spots and an overbeaten cake. There was a slight aftertaste in the blue and red layer so I would suggest a lighter shading than I did. My fingers were stained afterwards and despite screwing the lids on tight the bottles seemed to leak a little.

First time making a rainbow cake and these colours were perfect! Easy to use, a little goes a long way and the pots are small so easy to store. Texture isn't affected like it can be with liquid food colour, but the red has a slightly bitter taste so only use what you need!

Having used another brand and got terrible results with muddy looking colours. I was recommended sugar flair by a caterer. They are perfect for rainbow cakes and gave stunning colours with just a little amount. Definitely will buy again

Amazing colours. Little goes long way. I have made a rainbow colour cake for my mum 60th birthday and the colours came out just so perfect. The only colour it did not seem to come out so quite nice is the purple but maybe I have put in a bit less then I should have. I will definitely recommend i. It will last me for a long time. The very thick consistency which allows you to chose the right amount and it can be used for any kind of food preparation.
