A BRILLIANT INVESTMENT
I read the reviews for this book and debated whether or not to get it. Quite a few reviewers were negative about the amount of ingredients that you need to get started. I decided to get it anyway. I am SO glad I did! I am having such fun making smoothies, and they are so tasty! My husband is delighted with my new hobby and we are both getting the benefit of the high nutritional value of the mixed ingredients in a very palatable way. The information at the beginning of the book is excellent. I have learned a lot about ingredients I hadn't even heard of, such as camu and acai and have invested in buying not just these ingredients but a range of other ingredients, such as cacao nibs and powder, hemp seeds, flaxseeds, chopped dates, etc. I have bought in bulk, mainly organic, from an online company, and it works out far cheaper than buying in the supermarkets or health food shops. Yes, the initial cost mounts up, but it is so worth it and the ingredients will last. (I bought some Kilner jars to store the products in.) I bought a cheap grinder from Amazon and am grinding the chia seeds, flaxseeds and hemp seeds. I am also making my own almond milk (so easy) and coconut milk/water, ingredients required for some of the smoothies. I have made several of the smoothies, in the short time I have had the book, and have made some adaptations here and there. So far so good. The book is inspirational and the high nutritional value of the smoothies ensures that they not only taste good, but they do you good too.

The additional supplements to buy can be hard to find and Amazon has been great for this
I've nearly made every single smoothie in this book. They're delicious, sometimes unusual. The additional supplements to buy can be hard to find and Amazon has been great for this. These supplements are an investment and they'll last you a while so not like you have to keep buying them regularly. I am still slightly sceptical that some of the superfood benefit statements made generally are actually true. Still, as a smoothie fan, this is a fantastic book and highly recommended.

High quality book. Makes for a great gift.
I bought this as a gift to accompany smoothie maker. The book is a physically very good quality. The photos are stunning and the recipes, from what I hear, are a nice mix.

Very American but interesting
I love juicing and making Smoothies and am a Jason Vale devotee - so I am always on the look out for a new juicing/smoothie book. This book looks great - the photography is very appealing, colourful and appetising. The begining of the book was very informative and helpful from subjects such as how to 'build' your smoothie in the blender, to super food staples and a key to the benifts of the particular recipie such as detox, bone strength or heart health. The recipies can be a little left of centre however (Chocolate and Cauliflower anyone?) Also, I found I had never heard of some of the ingeridents. For example Sea Buckthorn Juice, Lucuma Powder, Mulberries, Maqui - all of which I am sure I can source, but it makes the cost, and the bother, start to increase. Saying that - there are some very nice recipies in the book that are more than accesible and appetising, for example -1. Peaches and Cream2. Grapefruit Pomegranate3. Strawberry Cucumber4. Mango Chilli5. Pineapple Watercress6. Green Protien7. Lemon Lime8. Pumpkin Pie9. Creamy Orange10. Chocolate Hazelnut....and even a smoothie for Dog's!The author finishes by including a substitution chart (Mulberries = Raisins), Making your own nut and seed milks, weights and measure conversion chart and a smoothie by benifit section. As per some of my previous reviews, this is one for people who are already well into their healthy eating journey and who are prepared to go the extra mile and have the resources to locate less common ingredients. If you are just starting out with superfoods and juicing I would recomend starting with Jason Vale or Joe Cross.

Incredibly tasty and healthy!!
I love this book so much!! There is so much good info at the beginning to help you to get into the swing of how to go about making superfood smoothies and what all the different veg, fruit and powders have to offer!I have been using the book as part of a healthy lifestyle and vegan plant-based diet and I have tried at-least 12 of the recipes! I have to say I’m always a little sceptical when authors make healthy versions of classic recipes but honestly the “Key Lime Pie” smoothie was incredibly similar to the real thing! The cacao smoothies have been hitting the spot whenever I feel like chocolate and I am a big fan of the “Mint Choc-Chip” smoothie! You will not regret buying this book! I have been having so much fun with it! Some people have said it’s hard to get all the ingredients but I found most things locally in supermarkets and health food shops and then a couple things online! She uses a lot of common ingredients like fruits, veg and nuts so you can always skip something that you don’t have too! I have found my favourite powders to be cacao powder and maqui berry powder for their taste! I also think the hemp powder doesn’t taste bad at all and is packed with protein and goodness!Hope you enjoy the book as much as I have!

Lots of inspiration!
A really lovely book, well put together with lots of info about superfoods and how to construct a smoothie, also beautifully illustrated. Lots of great ideas and I have loved the ones I have tried so far. It uses US measurements but there is a conversion chart if you are UK based like me.
