Good to help if you want to make all things Dresden

The book was in good condition, but it was missing the templates. I did not realize it did not include the templates when I bought it. Sadly, I didn’t notice until the return window had shut. That being said, the technique is great and if you can find the template somewhere, it’s a great book.

I bought the Kindle Edition of this book. I love this book and find the instructions clear and easy to understand. I am looking forward to using these techniques very soon. However, I have discovered (after my purchase) that a very important part of the book is missing. The "pull out" pages containing the templates needed (very critical to making use of this book) are not included. I understand that it would be quite a trick to have a "pull out" section to an ebook but I believe that there should be a statement or warning about this part of the book not being included. I believe it should be possible to include printable pages to correct this problem. I never would have purchased the Kindle Edition had I known about this omission. I am very disappointed. I will not be able to make any of these quilts without the templates. The book is good quality information and well doneI thought it would be closer to "Modern" Quilting. The title is a little misleading as I didn't find it to be very "Modern". It was a little disappointing in that regard because I was looking for something updated and different.If you are just looking for a good dresden plates book, this is a good one and will probably meet your needs.

This book shows fun new ways to use dresden plate designs.

I have been quilting for seven years and devour as much quilt literature and periodicals as I can. I thought this was a well written, easy to understand, and enjoyable book. I recommend it for anyone who wishes to expand on the Dresden plate theme. Anelie Belden, the author, understands quiltmakers and encourages us to use her projects as a jumping off point to expand our own ideas. She does that beautifully.Visually, the book is stunning and the fabric choices of her projects are cheerful and engaging.**All of the projects in this book are for plates with twenty blades.** My Dresden tool is for plates with sixteen blades (I use the Marti Michelle tool, not the "Fast 2 Cut" one she recommends in the book) but I am having no problems adapting the projects accordingly. I do strongly recommend, that if you are going to make a lot of Dresden plates, you should get yourself a Dresden plate rotary cutting template. Life will be a lot easier!!

I recently took a class with the author of this book Anelie Belden and I purchased the Kindle version as a resource. The book explains the history of the Dresden Plate pattern and offers projects from easy to intermediate skill levels. They directions for the project are very well written and clear. I would recommend purchasing the hard copy of the book instead of the Kindle version because there is a template sheet in back of the hard copy you will need to make the projects. The Kindle version does not have or offer this template sheet. You can contact the publishers (C&T Publishers)and they will send you get a copy of the templates, but it's just an inconvient extra step.

This is a lovely book. It arrived in good condition and I have already made a table topper from one o fthe ideas.

Nothing new here, cheaper to use your old patterns and look at new designs on Pininterest. I would not recommend at the price for what it is.
