Q: How do i turn it on? It was just delivered and it doesnt seem to turn on. Even when i plug it in..

It must be defective. All I did was plug it into the round DC 5V spot, and into the wall and it came on. There is also a place to put batteries. I am guessing if plugging it in isn't making it come on then batteries won't work either. There is also a USB port to plug in a charger for your device or whatever. but that isn't what powers the clock. You have to plug it into the round DC port with the wire it comes with.

Q: does this clock need to be plugged in or can i use just batteries to use it?

Batteries will only work to keep the time when you power to restored by plug. It cannot show time by batteries itself

Q: Where is the volume button on this clock?

You hold the sound button on top until the DB’s pop up. You can choose from 55 to 85
