Vile, vile, utterly vile. It tastes like acid and stained my child!
Oh, where to start? This stuff is like drinking radioactive waste...I bought it as flavouring for Soda Stream drinks. Soda Stream's own cordials are pretty expensive, so we wanted something cheaper. This was definitely cheaper - about half the price, based on volume of drink created per pound. So far, so goodThe problems started when we added it to the carbonated water. Something in this makes carbonated water fizz like hell, meaning that the drink it half flat when you consume. OK, nothing major perhaps, and something you can overcome by adding more fizz in the first place, but not ideal - who wants to waste CO2?The next issue was the taste. It's really acidic and only one member of the family (my six-year-old son) liked it. Everybody else thought it was horribly artificial and sharp. It was a few hours later that I noticed the final problem - the staining! It looked like my youngest had painted a big pink smile on his face (I wouldn't put it past him!). After a few seconds, we realised it was the mark left by the Kool Aid, tracing out on his face the outline of his drinking glass. Yes, Kool Aid has stained my child! Despite washing, the mark remained, making him look like Jack Nicholson's Batman (circa 1990). Not a good look at the time; even less of a good look for a small boy off to Beavers.By the next day the staining had all-but disappeared. It was then that we noticed the dining table. There was a distinct pink ring in the varnish, obviously left by my son's glass the day before. So we gave that a scrub too, and like my son's face, this mark couldn't be removed. It's still there, weeks later. And just to put that into perspective, my dining table is 12 years old and has no other stains. Yep, that's right - in a dozen years of daily use, nothing has managed to stain my table except for Kool Aid. God knows what it does to your insides - or more importantly what the hell does it do to kids' teeth?I chucked it away the next day, putting it in the compost caddy...AND IT PROMPTLY DISSOLVED THE CADDY BAG! What is this stuff made from? Sulfuric acid? Plutonium? Kryptonite?Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. We've switched to Vimto. I'd suggest you do the same.

Colouring in the powder is irritating
I really enjoyed the flavour but the dust this produces goes everywhere (including up your nose) and as soon as a surface gets wet - you get bright red stains (bleach immediately takes care of it, and if its on clothes it should wash out in a 60 degree wash). I personally found the intense colour very off putting, along with the sugar content but otherwise it was enjoyable.

Okay
Smells nicer than it tastes although it doesnt taste awful , it reminds me of cherry brandy ice lollies .I dont think it needs sugar at all .Stains really bad , i wouldnt give my kids this all the time because its not very good for you and lets face it if you can so called dye your hair and clean your dishwasher with this stuff it certainly cant be that good for your body , i dont mind as a treat but not a regular thing but to be honest my daughter who wanted to try this is 7 years old and she aint bothered about it ; so i dont think i would buy again .

Tasty
Very tasty drink! I have this every so often as a treat but I don't have it too often due to the sugar.
