Plain sailing
Solid well-made little plane very useful in model building or those annoying little adjustments needed to wood products

Overall good value for money
This mini plane is surprisingly well made good value for money. The only drawback is the blade itself, which needs a bit of effort to make fit for purpose. Overall it is an excellent item & value for money.

Read the reviews - awful and waste of time and money
I read the reviews yet still purchased one to try. Blade was blunt and made of soft steel. Even after attempting to sharpen on a stone was impossible to set and not useable. Waste of money, just a toy and ornament.

Needs some work before use
OK, so like any cheap plane, from Silverline, or Faithful, you can be assured it needs major work out the box.in this case, the base rocks as it is not flat, and the anvil has a major cut out to fit the pin, except it doesn't fit the pin at all, and the dinky blade is as sharp as a shovel or spade.Thankfully, I have a workshop well equipped to turn these low cost, bad tools into something that competes with Rider. The cutout in the anvil is a bit deep, and I see this as a possible future failure point. Luckily I can turn this around and mark my own grove. The corners of the tool steel blade have been rounded, which is not ideal for getting into corners, and will have to be re cut, but since it's got a poor cutting edge, that's not an issue. The main body can be fixed on a belt sander, as I often do for my most distorted planes, before a minor hone on a diamond, although in this case, the composite brass and wood would not suit the diamond.Out the box, this plane isn't worth more than £3, but after rework, is worth the going rate. If your prepared to put the time in, you can save yourself the expense of the premium brands, but I certainly would not recommend using this as it comes - you'll do more damage to your project, or yourself.

Needs a bit of work
As other reviews, blade neither sharp or true. The body is true and reassuringly solid. However for the price, and ability to plane small areas (once trued and sharpened) very useful. A router would probably be more accurate and faster, but there is a simplicity in traditional crafting hobby projects.

Cutting blade not secured adequately by the tightening screw. Keeps coming loose

Lovely.
A lovely made little item. To me this is more of an ornament and I love it as such. I did have a go at using it as a plane and.....well, yeah, lets just say it didn't perform. So nicely made tho that if you want a nice ornament its great.I don't regret buying it.

Smaller than I expected, but useful
This plane was much smaller than I was expecting, so I've added a photo for scale. However it is useful and just what I needed for a job where I needed to plane right into a corner. Out of the box, the blade was pretty blunt but it was quick to sharpen on a diamond file.

Terrible
Not even a reasonable quality. Sure, it's inexpensive, but some at least have something in it that gives you a feeling that it isn't just junk. The iron can't hold a edge for more than maximum 10 strokes, in pine... of course it needed sharpening directly out of the package. The brass part has not been deburred.I'll have to make a new blade for it to have any use of it.
