I really wanted to love this ***Update***
This company seems to stand by its mandate to provide customers with quality products. After my previous feedback (below), they reached out to me immediately to replace the defective reel, as the one I received was not consistent with the others they produce. Integrity is everything, particularly if priority 1 is to meet customer satisfaction.PREVIOUS REVIEW:So after This remains one of the smoothest reels I have had in hand. Really smooth action. Unfortunately, I have lost fish, line and patience with this reel. 15lb monofilament tangled on nearly every cast so the first thought was that the reel was over-spooled. Went with far less line, the same result. A friend of mine who has been fishing for years suggested that I look at the anti-reverse switch and sure enough, after cutting away much of the tangled line (pics attached) I noticed that no matter the direction the switch was in the reel kept running and then locked the action in one direction when it darn well pleased. This was also true with all the line gone.My next option would have been to reduce the line to 12 lbs but at this point, that is unecessary.

Not bad for the price
Picked this up as another reel to let first-timers or infrequent anglers use. I tend to introduce kids to the sport, and they can be pretty hard on equipment. This lasted just fine for the season and will be on a guest pole again this year. The reel doesn't have the smoothest action I've ever felt, but it isn't the worst either. This is a good reel at the top of the entry level tier from my perspective. It may not cast as far as a $250 reel, but that isn't exactly its niche. If you have kids that you like to take fishing, or a boat where you entertain guests, this is a great offering. Add in the extra spool provided, and you can quickly move from one setup to the other. Pair this with a good mid-range pole, and I bet even experienced anglers wouldn't take issue with the reel. And, at the end of the day, if it goes overboard or gets broken, you won't have to take out a second mortgage to replace it. I might even argue that you would likely buy it again. I can't see this reel failing from anything other than abuse.

Smooth as silk with a flawless drag. Very well made.
I’ve had a chance to fish with this (review is of 2000 series reel) and have put it through a couple hundred casts / retrievals. I spooled it with 75 yards of 6lb mono. I’m casting lightweight jig heads and worm bodies in my neighborhood pond. Not a lot of fish caught, but between fish and weeds hooked, the drag was perfectly consistent and worked flawlessly. Cranking action was impressively smooth. The gear ratio (5:1 basically) was perfect for my lures in a reel this size. The line spooled back on evenly without issue. The bail arm spring tension was perfect and I didn’t have to fight it to get it to stay snapped open when it was supposed to be, nor close when it should have. The anti-reverse switch worked as it should. It comes with an extra spool, which is changed by unscrewing the drag tension knob on the spool face and pulling spool and knob both off. The crank handle can be used on either side.Out of the box, the finish on this reel is really nice. It’s plastic where it makes sense and metal (mainly aluminum) where it matters. It does not feel plastic-like or cheaply made when you handle it at all. If you fish a lot, when you pick this up, you’ll probably notice that right away. I’ve gone through many reels over the years, including cheap ones I neglect when salt water fishing that I chuck out after a season or two. This one is a keeper worthy of being taken care of.

Great low cost Fishing Reel
I'm by no means an expert fisherman, however I'm quite pleased with this Mifine MOCTIS Fishing Reel. It is lightweight yet strong and really is Ultra Smooth to and the drag is easy to adjust. The metal parts are smoothly polished and the Bail flips easily with very little force. I like that the clicker is super quiet and the extra spool comes in handy if you want to have a couple different strength fishing lines to choose from. Looking forward to my next fishing trip to give it a good workout!

Great reel
I got this to pair with my medium/medium heavy rod and it works well.It is smooth and has all the feel of a more expensive reel that can be taken on my kayak with no worries of being lost because it can be replaced for the cost.I am very happy.
