My favorite edc knife
9-8-13I bought this knife two years ago because I found it on sale and liked the way it felt in my hand. Before this I had never carried a knife this large every day but since buying it it has been clipped in my pocket every day. I work in construction and do a lot of hunting and fishing and it's light enough yet big enough to use it for everything. The pocket clip is tight as it should be. The knife stays where I put it. If you have trouble pulling a pocket clip knife from your pocket perhaps you should carry tissues instead. It also hones easily yet stays sharp through a reasonable amount of use. It flips open and unlocks for closing easily with one hand. I just grab it - use it - and put it away. If you still need your mommy to help you blow your nose then this knife isn't for you. Blunt scissors might be appropriate. Some have commented on a "rust" issue. I really hadn't noticed because mine has lots of scratches and various marks due to cutting everything from carpenter pencils at work to skinning an elk to gutting Chinook salmon on a recent fishing trip on the coast of Oregon. Yep I used it in salt water and after looking closely there are little brown spots of oxidation here and there but I don't care. It's not rust proof, not even stainless and it's not advertised that way so don't expect it. It's AUS8 steel. It can rust and probably will but it's an utterly minor issue if you actually use your knives because it's more useful than stainless. And I have a dirty little secret for some of you. Stainless will rust too if you don't take care of it.I'll take function over form any day. I use what I buy and expect stuff to show use. This knife does show that it's been used but it also still works like it did on day one.If you don't want scratches, ink, oxidation, graphite, strawberry jam, sand, adhesive residue, blood, fish scales, sap, dirt, peanut butter, lint, boogers, splinters, sweat, whatever is under your fingernails, mustard, tomato juice or any other undesirable substance on your knife then you might want to lock it in a drawer so you can reduce the frequency of your visits to a psychiatrist.I'm here today to buy another one before they disappear like so many good knives do. Maybe it'll stick around like the Schrade Sharpfinger. That would be nice.

Perfect EDC
This is a true 5 star knife. Purchased as EDC, I have been using now for several months. EDC for me means durable, consistent, simple one handed operation. I handled this CRKT at a store before purchasing here at half the cost. Good grip feel with index and thumb, it is the right size, not tiny or gigantic. Checks on handle provide proper frictional resistance, feels just as good in wet conditions as in dry. Sits deep in pocket and is easily retrievable. I have had no issues with corrosion, I do regularly clean, oil and sharpen. Edge holds well under normal use and sharpens easily. I have removed the clip after catching and bending it on a pipe flange at work, removed clip, bent it back and replaced screws easily. It is visually low key, doesn't look like some ninja secret agent wanna be tactical collector garbage. I couldn't be happier with this knife, a perfect EDC.Pros: Priced less then $30, light weight, pocket clip sits knife deep in pocket with minimal protrusion, consistent easy one hand use (right hand), durable, reliableCons: noneNotes: The pocket clip screws have a very low torque value, a couple of inch pounds at most (two finger torque only). They are seated in brass inserts which is nice but if you over torque the threads will clearly strip right off the screws. The clip its self acts as a spring washer and keeps the screws from coming loose at the low torque value, good engineering and basic physics. I have been through a lot of pocket knives over the years, this is the first one that I have had zero complaints about.

One of the best affordable knives...I love it
This knife was razor sharp out of the box. Cuts paper like butter. I'm really impressed with the AUS 8 steel, which appears to be better than Chinese steel in the same range. I had bought some Kershaw knives, which used Chinese steel and did not cut paper as well as this knife. The flipper, which appears to be non-assisted, was able to deploy the knife to the locked position but required a small flick of the wrist, which is okay. There was plenty of jimping for my thumb on top but the notches were a bit sharp and big. Would have been perfect if the jimping was smaller and smoother. On the positive side, I'll always have the strongest grip. However, I would not want to use this knife for a long duration.I loved the notch for the index finger to help with grip and prevent my hand from sliding up to the blade. The flipper also helps to keep you hands from slipping to the blade's edge. The grip appears to have been inspired by handgun grips and has that cross-hatch pattern. I would have preferred G-10 grips with less aggressive pattern. On the positive side, if my hands were wet and oily, this grip would allow me to hold onto the knife securely. Many might consider this knife to be too bulky for EDC and that is probably true because it is a bit wide. But the wideness does enhance the ergonomics when you hold the knife. A skinny handle does not allow the strongest grip. This knife feels like holding a gun without the barrel. I prefer to carry this knife in a smartphone case attached to my belt. When I clip it in my pants pocket, it does show a bit of the knife poking out of pocket. The best thing about this knife is that it could also be used as a tactical knife because of the bigger blade and longer length than many EDC knives.I really like the shape of the knife and the blade shape. It's curvy and stylish looking.
