Some Brilliant Concepts but Confusingly Presented
I think there is an excellent game in here, I love the setting, but it is very confusingly presented and hard to follow. Ran the quick start game for my group a while back and we all really enjoyed it but I doubt I'll ever try to run a campaign. The rules are complex, but that wouldn't be a problem if they were clearly laid out and explained. There is no index and no glossary, common and highly useful tools in any good rule set. Explanations for how the system works are scattered between the two core books and between rule sections and equipment sections. In a few areas there are examples of play, which is very helpful, but far too few and missing in many vital areas. The books look gorgeous, with excellent artwork, but perhaps a few fewer pictures and a few more examples of play could have helped. There is an excellent game in here somewhere but with other, much more clearly laid out RPG rule systems on the market I can't feel this one is worth the effort of making sense of what the authors intended.

REALLY fun game! i'm currently planning out my first campaign using this system. the books are choc full of information, and a lot of it leaves room for the GM to insert their own theories. the only qualm i have with it is the way the information is set out. first, there are two corebooks which is weird, but i don't mind that - the bigger issue is things like character creation and worldbuilding info are spread between the two books so that when you're creating characters or reading up on a certain concept like the flux, you have to keep flicking around the book. it'd be a lot nicer if it were divided a little more coherently. i definitely recommend this! i want more people to get into this amazing game!

the game is superbly illustrated and the settings is unique and thought provoking, can't wait to ref it and see what the players do.
