Superior quality
This cocoa is what good patisserie chefs use so thought I would give it a go. You can certainly taste the difference. You can even smell that it is better quality cocoa. It comes in a large paper bag like a flour bag but taller. I just about fit the whole bag into a large kilner jar. I have used it for chocolate cake and it really improves the flavour over a supermarket bought cocoa. I thought it was a little pricy but then for such a large bag I think it is worth the cost.Very excited to try the callebaut callets next.

Healthier option and lasts forever
This bag contains enough raw cocoa powder for dozens and dozens of hot chocolate drinks. Raw cocoa powder is stronger than I thought so I only need a very small teaspoon serving to flavour food and drink. This makes it extremely good value as it will last for months for these uses.if you're new to raw cocoa powder you should note that it's more bitter than typical off the shelf chocolate but it's way healthier and I got used to the taste very quickly.

Cocoalishous.
Excellent cocoa powder, good texture and flavour. The only downside is the packaging. The bottom got damp from the work counter and started to separate. Since I didn’t need to use a whole kilo all at once I had to try find some thing else to store it in. Would recommend it but also suggest you need to be prepared to have something ready to store it in.

Definitely recommend
Been having problems with my chocolate cakes turning out far too sweet when I've been using other generic cocoa powders, so I turned to the internet to look for something better. This has turned out to be amazing! It makes my chocolate cakes/cupcakes rich enough without being too much, and doesn't make it sickly sweet. The best part is, is you don't need too much cocoa powder. It even turned out to be amazing for adding a small amount into hot chocolate if you want to dull down the sweetness in it a bit.. yum!

Lovely quality and flavour cocoa powder
I was delightfully surprised how good this brand of cocoa is and how versatile too. I had previously bought Tesco and then Bourneville and Divine brands of cocoa powder and was VERY disappointed with the poor quality of these makes. I decided to follow other reviewers high praises and try this cocoa powder and I have been delightfully surprised bit the quality and taste. Makes lovely hot chocolate and gives a good flavour in baked goods. Lovely. Wouls biu again and would recommend.

Better bakes - what more can you ask for?
Having read in a few places that the fat content of cocoa powder (who knew there was such a thing) makes a difference in the taste of the final bake, I went about looking for a quality cocoa powder. This is a substantial bag and so worth it. When it arrived in the typical amazon cardboard package, I could actually already smell the cocoa powder; it's that rich. Furthermore (and after the fact), my chef-y would be brother-in-law said 'oh yes, Callebaut, they have a great reputation'. Ticks all the boxes then. Sold :)

Decided to give this stuff a try as I had read in some of the comments it tastes better than Green and Blacks cocoa ( which is what I usually use.) After using it for a while, alternating between the two, l still slightly prefer the G&B brand - I think this is mostly due to them adding some vanilla into their mix though. If you were to add some to this stuff you would probably get a very similar taste, I will try this soon. This is still a great cocoa though and great value for money.

This process, discovered by Dutch chemist C. J. Van Houten (hence the \"dutched\" tag) basically just removes most of the fat (cocoa butter) from the cocoa solids. The resulting powder has a darker, almost reddish color and a mild taste. Natural, un-alkalized cocoa powder often has a bitter, acidic taste that, while complimentary to some recipes, is overpowering in others. The alkalization process mellows the cocoa out a little and makes it a little easier to blend with other flavors. Dutched cocoa powder is sometimes referred to as \"European style\" cocoa because of its popularity in European pastries and cakes that require a subtle flavor. Dutched cocoa powder is also easier to mix than natural powders. Because most of the fat has been removed from the cocoa solids, dutched powders blend with liquids much easier. The solubility of alkalized cocoa makes it popular with bakers and candy makers alike. Many bakers dissolve dutched cocoa powder in a small amount of boiling water and substitute the mixture for other liquids in recipes. While both natural and alkalized cocoa powders have wide uses, they cannot be substituted for each other in recipes. Alkalized powders have had all of their acids neutralized so they don't react with baking soda. Recipes that use dutched cocoa powders call for baking powder, unless there are other acid ingredients, like citrus juices, that will react with baking soda."}},{"@type":"Question","name":"is it good for topping? like just some drizzle on the top of cakes/cookies","acceptedAnswer":{"@type":"Answer","text":"Dear Chiita, thank you for your enquiry.
