Verbatim 43757 DVD+R 8x DL Matt Silver 25 pack

Can't go wrong with a reliable make at a reasonable price.

I used to use other makes of recordable DVDs e.g. Sony, but these turned out to be unreliable in terms of failed recordings. Verbatim DVDs just work as expected, no problems. I always use them for backing up files.

TDK was my go-to but now I always stick with Verbatim, especially DL discs. Sadly the price seems to suggest that Verbatim know they have a customer base that will pay silly prices for their media and are making the most of it before it goes.

I have used these discs for years but aside the price getting very high.Every single time I order these from Amazon EU they arrive in a brown paper bag and usually damaged in some way.Very expensive so any that are damaged in the slightest will be returned from now on.So frustrating that I can receive bin bags in a box yet these high price discs smashed up in a paper bag.

For quite a few years, every month I used a new Verbatim DVD-R 4.7 GB disc to make a back-up copy of all the files from my family tree. However, by August 2020 the (standard) 4.7 GB DVD single layer disc no longer had sufficient capacity and I needed to change to Verbatim DVD+R DL 8.5 GB discs. These discs have the capacity do the job that I need them to do. It can be much harder to find Double Layer DVD recordable discs. Verbatim being one of the few that I find on sale: so, I will continue to buy and use them.

I was initially chary about Verbatim disks, having never heard of them back in 2010. Since then, their recordable CDs and DVDs are my medium of choice. Touch wood (!), I've never yet been let down by the product. I've only recently switched to dual-layer DVD+R DL disks, but am delighted to find I can reduce my back-up disks from 2 standard DVD+R per back up to just one of the dual-layer type.I see no reason to change to any other make and the Amazon price is very competitive.

Have always used Verbatim both single and double layer as are the most reliable manufacturer. Long term storage is excellent.

So far, so good! All the disks I've used so far (about 10) have worked exactly as I expected - both record and play-back. They came well within the expected time, well packed and undamaged. I ordered them because a previous order of 10 also performed well - after I learnt how to operate my recorder! If you need 8.5 GB disks, I would recommend these.
