Great bit of kit
Bit skeptical of a product sold by brand called "Generic" for only £25 but I am very very pleased with the product.I am using the product as a FPV (First Persion View) Monitor for a Quadcopter drone with a 5.8Ghz camera transmitter on it. For anyone planning to use this for the same reason here is my setup, for anyone not bothered skip to the last parapgraph:250FPV frame with a FatShark & Immersion Predator V2 w/ a camera and 5.8ghz transmitter. I mount the monitor on a tripod (has the correct thread on the monitor, description doesn't mention this) and run a 3.5mm to triple phono cable from the goggles into the yellow phono input on the monitor. The picture I would say is considerably better on this monitor than what I can see through the goggles, the quality of the LED or LCD screen that's in the goggles just isn't as good, even though the resolution doesn't seem to change. Also, both run at the same time. So I can look through the goggles and someone else look at the monitor or vice versa. There seems to be absolutely no lag and therefore this is a great way for saving yourself some money from buying a specific FPV monitor on HobbyKing for at least £50. If you have the goggles already they're a great receiver.I have been running this unit off a Yuasa 12v 2.1Ah Sealed Lead Acid battery. When fully charged the battery reads about 12.9volts which should be fine as this monitor can apparently runs from 9-35v, although I have not tested this. Running just an analogue video signal into the yellow phono input this monitor pulls about 230ma, so very little current. Maybe add a little more if you're using the speaker outputs on it aswell, but it's a very low current device.I'm very impressed with the actual quality of this unit, for only £25 I really wasn't sure what to expect. There are a few other monitors on Amazon of very similar specs for as low as £20 but I decided to try this as it's Prime eligable. I ordered late Friday night and turned up Saturday morning. The actual housing feels quite strong, and even comes supplied with a sort of case which I think is for mounting to a cars headrest, although i'm not sure. With that case on, it's roughly the same size as an iPad Mini, but thicker obviously.Overall very happy with the unit with only one possible drawback, I like that the unit has VGA and phono, but I think it would be much better and I'd of been happy paying slightly more would be to not have the cables hardwired into the unit dangling out the bottom. I won't ever need the VGA and so it just takes up room, as I don't want to open the unit and desolder the connection and void my warranty. I would much prefer just to have a port in which I could just plug my own cables into. But that's a small downside. I mount the monitor on my camera tripod and balance a battery on the arms that fold out to the tripods legs. For anyone wondering how to wire this up: There is one connection, which LOOKS (not sure) like a female 2.1 x 5.5mm barrel jack centre pin positive. It comes supplied with male jack with 2 red and black wires. It's only thin wire maybe 20AWG so I found it a bit tricky to crimp on my normal uninsulated spades. I used those entirely insulated ones they worked a lot better for this thin wire. If you're installing this in a car you can wire straight into your 12v system. However there is also seperate from the main power connection a blue wire which can be wired to your reversing light, so when you begin reversing it turns on and whatever camera/feed you have connected will show up on screen. I found the monitor takes about a second to turn on.TLDR: Very happy. Great price. Good quality. Good picture. Bad side is cables that dangle out the back that I don't use which I could remove them.

Great little screen
Connected to Raspberry Pi easily, both end are female so you need a bit of cable. Screen menus allows you to rotate image and choose input, Monitor then remembers the settings for next time its powered up. If you need to, the VGA cable can be easily removed if you take the back off, since they are not soldered to the PCB . Mounted under a kitchen cabinet, with a Raspberry Pi as a media player. Menus over composite are clear enough to read. The mounting plate hole were a bit small to screw down, but easily drilled bigger.

Second screen for FPV ?
I bought this screen to use with my FPV quad-copters as an extra "passenger" screen.I found the screen easy to connect and use, it has connectors for VGA monitor and phono type plugs, so it is pretty much plug and play. I power it from a 12v and a 6v supply or batteries, all work perfectly with no visual difference at all.The picture display is by far good enough for my needs, as I only view live camera footage from an on-board source which does not produce a solid, stable picture to best judge this monitor by.I was pretty pleased with this screen in sunlight, a challenge for any screen let alone a budget screen for this price. I was still able to fly my passengers around with maybe a couple of exceptions where the sun became too bright and directly behind us, a little home made hood soon sorted that out and passengers were happy again. The screen will blue-screen when no signal is received, so as a single screen FPV setup, it really is a compromise.

Neat, but not without issues
In the + corner we have.Great picture quality when combined with a half decent camera – I used the AUTO-VOX Waterproof (IP68) Rear-view Reverse Camera, with great results. The screen is easy to install and the provided flat surface mount worked well for my motorhome as I sighted it above the rear view mirror so it looks OEM, almost. I’ve wired the camera & monitor so that they’re always on, rather than just when reversing, as it really helps to have a clear view of following traffic when motoring too. Monitor provides a good quality image and very stable picture quality. In the - corner we have.I needed to open the monitor to remove the VGA cable which wasn’t of interest to me. Doing so invalidated my warranty, so was risky, as I knew I would not be able to return the item for refund or exchange after that point. I was extra careful because of that and all was well, but it was a gamble...Biggest negative is that no matter what I tried, I could not get the screen to power up from any 12v source. I even wired it straight to a 12v battery and it still wouldn’t power up. It was only when I used a 240v AC to 12v DC convertor, powered via my motorhomes inverter that the monitor sprung into life. Very strange? Must be something to do with the amps?I might have returned the monitor because of this issue, but I couldn’t because I’d removed the VGA cable (sad face). I strongly suggest that the seller offers this item with or without the VGA cable, as I would have preferred it without.Sort that out and it would be 5 stars from me. As it stands it’s a 3 from me.Yours truly.John G.

Item is great for putting into the middle console of a car ...
Item is great for putting into the middle console of a car and build quality seemed sturdy. Unfortunately despite connecting it to a power source it would not power on? So had to return item. Didn't have enough faith to get a replacement and instead ordered another brand which worked

Excellent little screen
This is an excellent little screen and just perfect for my needs. I build computers inside old wooden radio cases for a hobby and having to have a 'modern' monitor next to them spoils the look so now I can hide this behind a removeable grille. There is the added benefit of it running off the same power supply as the computer by joining the lead included to a molex connector with a little bit of soldering. Already thinking of ordering a second one for the next project....
