Cracking iron, good power, long cable and handy temperature led guage
The media could not be loaded. We seem to need to replace our irons regularly and each time we have always found a fault with them in one way or another. So far this iron hasn't given us any concerning 'oh I wish it had' thoughts about it.The iron has a good weight to it which is mostly due to the large water tank on it but its weight isn't a concern for us as we like a heavy iron but the smooth glide from the plate means that it actually doesn't feel heavy at all when used. The refill spout is large enough so that precision refilling isn't required, this is one feature we found with our previous models, Philips and Russel Hobbs, seemed to lack. The steam and spray buttons situated on the handle are perfectly placed for easy thumb action and in use pump really well. The amount of steam is a lot greater than previous models which again we like as well as the water spray pumping out just about the right amount without soaking or being to little to require multiple presses which from experience has been a cause of fault, quite often after the warranty has expired. One feature that we really like, seeing that we regularly iron a lot clothing made from various materials, is the led temperature gauge that sits on the handle. The red or blue leds illuminate to give an indication of the plate's temperature. This itself saves having to quick touch the plate to check if the plate is hot or cool enough depending on fabrics.Another bug bear we have had with our last couple of irons has been the length of the power cable. The longer cable on this model gives that little bit of welcomed extra which means we don't have to get an extension lead out or be cramped up close to plug socket. Whilst not a major issue or a real 'oh I wish' as we have always kept any cable tidy clips from past irons but there isn't one supplied with this iron.

Yay, an iron that works without me building Arnie biceps
I love this iron, so far. Bought another brand from a well-known competitively priced shop that has stores and is now online no doubt giving these guys a well deserved run for their money. However this Breville iron is sold there for its full retail price! So I feel like I got a very nice deal on Amazon. With a longer wait for delivery though. But hey, free delivery versus £4 delivery (yes I am tight when it comes to this kind of purchase! lol) So it's swings and roundabouts.Performance is fantastic! Yes, it is heavy when filled with water, but to be honest I don't think it's excessively so - and that's what I wanted, after the weedy limp thing I bought from the other store. The Breville gets VERY hot and powers through everything I've ironed so far. I was surprised how quickly I got through my beloved's (usually bothersome) stiff cotton shirts. The steam function is awesome-I can see myself steaming my suit jackets with this, and it working a treat. I reckon it'll be great for jeans too.It has lots of functions, but it's very simple to use, and to add the water. So the only "downsides" might be the weight, for those with hand problems, and the fact that it gets super hot (which for me, is awesome). But it could catch us out on certain fabrics. Plus the dial is quite 'freewheeling' and can slip when the iron is handled. If none of that sounds too much hassle I'd recommend this iron. I think it is excellent value for the power you get.

Represents Good Value
There is a lot to like about this iron, it represents good value and includes a number of well thought out features. My only concern is with how well it glides, I was expecting it to be much better than the twenty year Philips iron I was replacing and although it wasn't bad some reviews here describe it as effortless and I actually found it far from effortless in fact on my first use I stopped several times thinking that I must have some sticker on the plate but it was all clear. It may take some time to bed in, if that is the case I will update this review but for now its dropped a star. The larger than normal water tank is very welcoming, as is the long cord, the steam is very effective and I like its wider than average plate, the cooled indicator is of little use, I would imagine most people are going to store it well before the indicator says it is okay. All in all it looks good and if it gives me the twenty years my Philips iron did I will be pleased.

Brilliant !
I never thought I could get excited about reviewing an iron but I have to confess that having used my new iron several times , I actually look forward to doing the chore !! What a find . I tend to stick with brands I am used to and have always been a fan of Philips irons . However as my ironing piles seem to be getting bigger , kids who wear stuff for 2 mins and put in the wash etc I decided to try one with a little more steam power and boy does this tick all the right boxes . First , it seems a big iron but feels no heavier than its predecessors . It glides over the clothes effortlessly and due to its continuous 60g steam output ( most irons only produce 40g) , you need to put little effort into your ironing to remove stubborn creases . I haven't even needed to use the steam shot button yet as it produces enough regular steam to remove these awkward ones . It heats up very quickly , has a handy red indicator to show when it has reached the required temperature and has a 3 metre cord which enables you to iron in most accessible places without the need for an extension lead . The only slight negative is that due to its steam power , the iron does need filling up frequently but this is a small price to pay for its overall performance ..... Just have a jug handy and it's not really a problem . For £35 it's a bargain , trust me , you won't be disappointed .

Super!
Wassertank ist groß und lässt sich leicht befüllen.Dieses Bügeleisen ist sehr leicht, es heizt schnell auf (dauert keine Minute) und man kann sehr gut damit bügeln.

Long cord and large Base plate
ProsQuick up to temp due to wattage. Long cord. Large surface area speeds up jobs. Easy fill.ConsAs mentioned, dial is a little close to handle and is easily bumped and turned, not a deal breaker.
