OK for the money, and will do my tasks softening plastics. I like the heat control. But it does not get hot as it says - "300C" on the dial gives about 120C / 250F on the workpiece. It can barely scorch a piece of wood, even up close on "600C". The wire stand is too narrow, should have been flared out wide, the stiffness of the cord makes it fall over. But the case stays cool, so it's ok to lay it on its side. It seems to remember its last heat setting. The switch has Off, Low (50C) and High (variable). The Low does put out about 50C (125F), and does not seem to respond to the variable buttons, for cooling it down, or low-temp jobs. But I would like it even better if the switch had Off-Low-Variable-High so you could go straight to high 600C when you want it, to get something hot, and then variable only when you need it.

Excellent quality, easy to use , works better than a flame and is so much safer. I use a lot of heat shrink on electrical connections in cars so there are some really tight spots where a open flame can cause more problems than it fixes so I bought this hot air gun in hopes that it would be more effective and I'm not disappointed. With the 3 different attachments this can be used for most things I was using a lighter not only that but it will work much better than a blow dryer for frozen pipes another great feature is it's adjustable and has a digital readout it's about the size of a average blow dryer but the volume of air it produces means it can get into tighter areas easily. I love what this can do and the fact it's so much safer. We live in a very dry area that's had more than it's fair share of wildfires and house fires so anything I can do to lessen the chances of a fire is something I'll do almost without question and this is a very simple solution to a very dangerous practice.

Nice heat gun, works well and good price . only items I would like to see extra are ability to change between temperature readouts eg have option for deg C and deg F and also to come with a carrying box.

First of all, came in the package box (as in the box it would be displayed in if it were in a store) not sealed, taped, or anything. Instruction book (just a single page pamphlet) is written in sketchy Engrish, and not too helpful.Product looks, feels, and seems to be built well. Works, has a fan adjust potentiometer, and temp up and down buttons. BUT...Not worth it for people who need this for any high temp things. I bought this for the use of doing solder sleeves for work. Seemed like a good option, states up to 600 C. It would not melt the solder in the sleeve.I was trying to give it the benefit of the doubt, but it couldn't even fully shrink down 3M good quality heat shrink tubes.Returned. Guess I will have to try a different one.
