Perfection! The door doesn't rattle and sound is better! Also keeps road noise out!
These are excellent! Used on my MG ZS front doors. They're very sticky, the adhesive is very strong.theres 10 in a pack, so 5 on each door. I'd say, I covered about 40% of the door. I used some on the very inside behind where the glass goes. But also on the inside metal where all wires are, covering the huge gaps in the door.Works a treat! If I tap on the door on outside it's now a dull THUD noise instead of a hollow metallic sound.Sound improvement.. Better! Hard to say though as I was installing new Component speakers to, which were massively better quality then original car so I can't properly compare the sound, BUT Bass response is better and less vibrations on a whole! If you are going to get this, I recommend taking your door card off and see how much you want to covered etc... you DO NOT NEED TO COVER ALL THE DOOR for it to work at all.. Unless your doing some serious car audio install... then you'd be covering all of it!Highly recommended!

Reduces panel vibration in the car
Silent Coat pack of ten tiles 187mm x 265mm x 2mm thick.I have a small car with minimal sound insulation, and it is very prone to amplifying the tyre noise on a coarse surface. Careful positioning of portions of the tiles from just the one pack has made a big improvement while not adding much weight. It helps a lot if the car and the tiles are both warm (not hot), careful use of a hair dryer can prove very effective. Moderate heat improves the flexibility of the tiles and makes the sticky more sticky. It is important to remove any wax treatment from the car surfaces before applying the tiles. The tiles do not allow water penetration behind them if correctly applied, and a spray of the wax after fitting will help seal the edges to prevent future water penetration and possible rust. One needs to be confident in removing the decorative cover panels without damaging the car, or its paintwork, or the cover panels, or the fasteners. I used the tools supplied in this kit of fasteners .This sound deadening stuff is effective at reducing the resonances of un-damped areas of bodywork prone to excitement by the vibrations coming up through the hard suspension. In some spots, such as bodywork close around a shock-absorber mounting or above a suspension point, a double layer can be more effective than a single layer. The technique to identify where to stick the stuff on a larger panel is simple: gently tap the suspected panels with the rounded plastic handle of a small screwdriver while applying a fingertip to different places on the panel. Anywhere the finger deadens the sound is worthwhile sticking on stuff. If the finger has no effect, then don’t waste the stuff there. It is surprising how small a piece can still be effective on quite a big panel.I’ve added a couple of pictures. The smaller one shows a bit of bent metal from inside the boot that was amazingly tingy and noisy before, and almost totally silent after the stickum was applied. The other is a more general view of some of the strategic bits stuck in the boot, leaving big areas not covered because they are actually box sections or folded stiffness with no resonance.Addendum. 3rd July 2019I’ve added four pieces from a second pack to a noisy rattling outdoor unit of a domestic air-conditioner. These prevented various panels from resonating, and a couple of strategic bits of draft-excluder foam finished off the process. It is now almost silent, and inaudible indoors or, more to the point, next door for a happy neighbour (me).

Good
Used for my Toyota auris. they were really thick and stuck extremely quick, can also cut them easily to suit the job. can't hear the engine that much, but can hear my tires more. Monkey business , didn't work for me the way I expected.

The Best HiFi Upgrade/Tweak I've Done To Date Bar - None
This review is mostly for HiFi nerds but, judging by my results I'll surprised if the same doesn't apply to it's sold as use."The Best HiFi Upgrade/Tweak I've Done To Date - Bar None".... The End!All jokes aside this item is;easy to use(just have some wet wipes to clean any unwanted visco-eslastic polymer/black sticky stuff as,it sticks to metal very well,& with care you can peel off but generally speaking once it's on....it's on,fairly easy to cut you can follow the lines with scissors or a decorator's knife, dampens to UNBELIEVABLE levels... really, outstanding &, it's value for money. Please remember if you carry-out this "upgrade" on your components, anything with warranty with be VOID!Plus ONLY open electrical components if you know what you're doing as,you COULD break or damage something, this IS a time consuming exercise. For me this WASN'T an issue I applied silent coat on "older components" 1st & then,I WAS sold so I done ALL my current components & am EXTREMELY Happy with the end results.I'll post some photos I took along the way too for "references".Another major "obvious" advantage is,if I ever sale any of them (which I have with previous un-dampened components), I'll have the pictures too show the upgrades &,if anyone is doubting the "effects" of dampening just Google it or better still, get a "large heavy" book & place on a HiFi Component & hear the difference yourself just by tapping the unit on top before & after book placement, you'll be amazed! Thanks for reading good luck with whatever you use silent coat for(HiFi,car, vans, etc.)& happy listening.Five Stars Highly recommended.
