Use flashing tape they said... It's the same. Let me just put it out there that this stuff is by far better than any rolls of flashing tape that you may buy. The cost is very similar when you look at the coverage, but the difference between the two is a lot further apart. The silent coat sheets really made a huge difference to the panels on my van. I haven't covered any of them 100% as I'm not looking at complete deadening... just something to take the rattle and tinny sound from the panels. This has done that with ease.Application is very easy and I had no issue with it sticking to panels or shaping it around any bends and dips.I'm looking forward to buying a VW T5 van in the near future for a camper conversion. One of the first buys will be enough Silent coat to cover every metal body part, followed by their insulation to suit.

It really works! I wasn't sure if it would actually make any difference I could hear. But it does...a lot when it comes to the sound coming out of the front door speakers. It was immediately noticeable, the mid-bass and the lower end bass. It was such an improvement I actually had to turn the down the bass. As for making the car quieter I noticed that to, but I have only done the front doors both inside the actual door and the door card. I still have 8 sheets left and I will likely get another pack or two for the floor, boot and roof. No doubt it will make even more of a difference to my Peugeot 106. One more good thing is the delivery for both times I've ordered it have been 2 days faster than the estimate :)

Good product, does the job
Excellent stuff. I had the inside stripped out of my car for another job so I applied these to all the big and potentially tinny-sounding panels in my car (inside doors, sections of the floor pan, inside rear quarter panels). As a result, the whole car sounds more solid and less tinny and the doors have a better "clunk" when they close. I'm not sure how much difference they would make to something solid like a BMW but on a relatively cheap runaround-type car, they have definitely made things better. Easy to fit/attach, stick well and easy to cut if you need to. Despite having a bitumen-like filling, they don't smell tarry (or much at all actually) so don't make the car interior smell odd.

So far so good but will have to order another 60 tiles to finish my car i read some reviews on this and a few said thats its enough for a small car i can confirm its not i only got the 2 front footwells done on mine. very easy to apply i would recommend using a heatgun to melt the glue on it so it sticks better. still yet to see if it makes a big different noise wise

You want good proofing then you have to buy
Used these tiles to sound proof my car doors as I am restoring it, easy to apply, although as I applied on not such a warm day a little heat from a heat gun allowed excellent contact, very easy to cut into the shapes required, easy to place in position and WOW what a difference to the hard thud when shutting the doors and the sound system gives true pure music now with no vibrations at all. Using on the the rest of the car and will be purchasing more.

Works.
Works better than the cheaper stuff which is basically cut-up flashing. Good on big panels and wheelarches to stop them ringing, but it doesn't block road noise; you need a foam layer for that (carry matts are good!!)
