It meets all my expectations. I did find that to assemble, remove all plastic sleeving on the uprights, and I started from the top; removed all solid plastic guards; adding a little vaseline to the exposed screw threads made it quite easy to assemble and when it came to the base, carefully align with the upright and spin. All assembled fairly easily. The lighting control is good and I like the 3 colour temperatures. For the money it provides all that I expected; recommended.

Arrived in timely fashion and well packed. This lamp is all it purports to be. Very easy to assemble, and slim enough to fit the base under and between settees, and with a long enough cable to reach sockets. Fully adjustable as it says. My partner makes items for his fishing, and was struggling with enough light to do so. This was bought to get over this issue, and is perfect. It will also be ideal as a backlight for highlighting his keyboard keys and for reading.

Ordered this for my mother, whose eyesight has deteriorated. It arrived in a brown box with the various pieces rattling around inside - no internal packaging whatsoever, no instructions, covered in dust and the cable was just loose instead of being tied neatly as with most new products. I actually think this was a customer return.... There was an entire section missing - the bit with the control knob (!) and needless to say the lamp would not work. A complete waste of my time and now my mother still needs a lamp and I have to package this up again to return it. Extremely disappointed - I expect better from Amazon.Update: So after I received my refund from Amazon I was contacted by William from the Lucient Support team. Despite the fact that I had already been refunded, he was keen to supply me with a replacement lamp, free of charge, and did so. The replacement arrived in a fully sealed package with all parts intact. Unfortunately there was an issue with two of the sections not tightening up properly. William had emailed me again to check that the replacement was okay - I told him of the problem but (since it was a free lamp) I was willing to try to fix this with superglue. Instead William sent me out ANOTHER lamp, this one the 14 watt version which has a much chunkier stem and base. This one is excellent, very well-made and sturdy. As for the customer service from Lucient -and from William in particular - just superb, could not be faulted. So whilst there may be some QC issues with the 8 watt version, you can order in complete confidence from Lucient. And I would recommend the 14W model over the 8 watt for the reasons stated.

Easy to assemble. Arrived in time. Bright enough for working, even with overhead lights off. Adjustable brightness and flexible, so it works as a night light too. It’s sleek, so fits between our bed and bedside table on both sides. Our headboard is quite high, so the knob isn’t accessible behind the headboard, but works well on the side.

Delivered in pieces but very simple to put together. Provided adequate lighting for a piano keyboard. The rotary and click knob adjustment works well. It could have been better with a slightly wider heavier base to prevent it being knocked over. Seperating out the on off from the brightness and colour controls would make it better because it was not obvious that holding the control in turned the lamp off. In reality once you get used to the sightly quirky control it works fine.

I love to read but found it hard when it was dark unless I put my overhead light on, my own lamps have energy saving bulbs so not super bright.This lamp is small but absolutely perfect to tuck under your chair. The head can be moved so you can direct it into your book and the three settings are great. At night I used the bright white but if I’m not reading I use the softer yellow light.

I bought this for a second light source in my seven-year-old son’s room and it is ideal. It’s not too tall, so my son can adjust its angle to his liking without having to stand on any furniture. The three settings have gorgeous colours of light – especially the gold/yellow. It gets quite bright and quite dim so you have a lot of choice with all the different settings. I would buy it again.

Works well. The control mechanism is easy to use, particularly if you have a tremor or similar disability. Very firm packaging meant that unpacking it was a little bit difficult. Assembly was fairly easy but screwing the bits of the pole together needed to be done with care.Over all: Very good purchase, particularly if you have problems with dexterity. Much recommended. JCPB
