This product is great is you are frying in a shallow pan.I do a lot of shallowing frying to brown meat and vegetables, as well as pan frying chicken wings. Oil normally gets all over the hob, counter and even the floor.I tried this as soon as it arrived and it really does reduce oil splatter. Some oil does come through, but it is significantly less than without the splatter guard.I laid it on a piece of foil to catch the excess oil when I had to put it down during use. Quite a lot of oil dripped from the guard which showed how much it caught.After use, I sprayed it with a kitchen degreaser (Elbow Grease), then rinsed it under the tap before putting in the dishwasher.I wouldn't put it straight in the dishwasher, due to the amount of grease, it might clog the pipes.Came out as new after the dishwasher.Update: After a few uses, a blue sticky substance started seeping out of the seams during use. I think this is glue that was melting during cooking. I requested a refund and Amazon processed it. I'm not sure if it was a faulty item or a design flaw.

Love that this has a fold up handle making it easy to store away. This is a really well made item and certainly worth the price. It looks and feels like it will last years. I have used it twice so far and it does the job of stopping the cooker top and surrounding areas getting covered in splatters. However, I did put it in the dish washer, seemed to do the job but I have noticed that one side of the gauge is blackened now, bit disappointing after just 2 uses, but to be honest as long as it means I don't have to do a major clean up operation every time I cook then this little gadget works for me!

Just covers my large fry pan but it is as described so can't fault it there. It's been great for reducing splatter on my stove top and splash back, it's gone through the dishwasher many times. Only loses a star because it's not quite balanced right, when using it on a smaller pan I have to either keep it so the pan is near the handle of the screen so the screen sticks way over the other side of the pan - which is not always possible or ideal or I have to balance the handle of the screen on the handle of the pan which leaves a larger gap between the pan and the screen and reduces it's effectiveness. An extra metal 'bar' opposite the handle would help counterweight it nicely.

I am not going to telll you it is the best quality material because it is not. it seems pretty flimsy. but the foldable hand reduced the footprint to allow me to put it where I need to when it is not in use. thats all I wanted and for that it is perfect

I ordered this Bystep Splatter Screen Stainless Steel Splatter Screen Guard with Silicone fold Handing Practical Kitchen Frying Pan Oil Proofing Lid to stop splattering occuring when frying food, and so saving time on clearing up afterwards.It is a good thickness and durable so should last a good amount of time.It has a comfortable handle to hold which can also be folded down when not in use to save space which is good.It is a good size and easily covers my frying pan, and i'm happy to say after cooking with it today no splattering was experienced so it certainly does its job. I was hesitant to spend this amount of money for a splash guard. I shouldn’t have worried, worth every penny. No comparison to the cheaper products I used before. I still get some splatter but that’s caused when you take the guard off the pan when transferring food in and out of the pan. The folding handle is great for storage and you can clean the thing very easily in the dishwasher. Would recommend.

I think the image implies that it is more transparent than it is, I bought this thinking I’d be able to see my food while not getting oil spat at me. Still, it lets air in and out while blocking the oil, so it does the basics. It’s a little harder to clean than I expected because of how fine mesh it is (hence how opaque it is). So far seems otherwise functional in the ways I’d want it to be.

It does what it is proposed to do. Be careful with very hot items, like cast iron, since they get really hot, the splatter might burn a little, mine burned, but after a good clean those black spots were gone, however, cleaning the item is not as easy, but that is because of the design any item with holes would not be easy to clean... but in the dishwasher, if not burned, it would be cleaned pretty easy
