Kite 1 Crows nil...
Agree with previous comments re instructions and fishing swivels. I would've given this 5 stars if the "problems" with line fankling had been addressed by the addition of a couple of fishing swivels worth about 20p. Saying that, with the swivels fitted this item works amazingly well. I had over 100 crows roosting in a tree at the bottom of the garden and within 5 minutes of setting up the kite they had all vanished and haven't returned... Epic!

A bird scarer worth buying
Once I had worked out how to put the poles together (not really that difficult once you.ve got the hang of it!!) and waited for the breeze to crank up a notch it was fine - a modification that I did was to put a swivel at both ends of the line ie on top of the pole and onto 'Eddie the eagle' to stop the line getting twisted. If this was provided with the kit then I would have given it a fiveOverall for a relative cheap product its fine - pigeons certainly give it a wide berth!

If I was a pigeon I'd be frightened
This kite is great, it's really keeping the pigeons away from my small vineyard patch. A tip is to use a shortish line to tether the kite to your five metre pole, this way the kite doesn't rest on the ground when there's no wind, then as soon as a gust arrives it picks up your hawk and propells it back into the sky, no need to keep tending your new kite buddy. Also as others have recommended do put a small fishing swivel at each end of your twine and it'll keep it tangle free, also angle your pole it helps stop the kite spinning/tangling around it. That's it, matainence free if you follow the above.

Connect with fishing swithels either end to save tangling. Seems to work.
The multi section poles works well and the top whippiness seems to make the hawk movements even more erratic. Certainly seems to have kept the larger birds off our bowling green. They were pecking holes everywhere before.

Best of the lot
Very robust. Easy to install or store. My neighbors saw mine and got their own...unfortunately they didn’t buy this one and theirs are broken. Only thing is you have to add swivels on the lines to prevent the line from winding up. These are easy to get from fishing tackle or they would’ve got a 5* from me.I had problems with seagulls and crows and now I don’t. I have tried several other gadgets out there and this was the only one that helped.

I’d did work and frightened the pigeons initially but then the telescopic pole calapsed and unfortunately the hawk got trapped under our solar panels and the pigeons are back under our solar panels. We are now awaiting our roof mam to come and release it and installl the chicken wire to stop them coming back

It was a disappointment. We have bought these in the past and they have been good quality telescopic fishing poles. This is not.

Seems to be working
Simple to assemble. I have this placed in a flowerbed, so the spike is fairly deep in the ground making it stable. The kite portion flies nicely, even in a light breeze. The swivel hooks mentioned by other reviewers are needed.
