Perfect !!
Used on a raw steel bicycle frame for protection , first coat spray from 20cm distance , keep moving , leave 45mins , second coat same , third coat to finish , one tin gives about 2.5 coats , no runs looks great !! would highly recommend !!

Very good - apply carefully however..,,
This gives an excellent finish to spray.bike base coats, although care is required to get a professional looking finish. Unlike the base coat, which is applied at 5-20 cm, I got a good finish at 25-30cm, using long wafting motions over the length of the tubes. Be very careful not to overspray at the tubing junctions / lugs however as this can lead to running.I got a good result doing a light 'tack coat' followed 15 mins later by a slightly heavier coat, and a still slightly heavier final coat 10 mins after that. This gave a lacquered look. One can was sufficient for a skinny steel framed road bike, albeit without the forks (which were fully chromed).Lock the door and don't disturb for 24 hours after application and leave a few days before building up.

does what it says on the tin
Looks awesome and adds a lovely finish to the undercoat.Didn't help much against bumps this still chips kind of easy but looks good.

A good finish.....
Re-sprayed my grandsons bike and it looks very good. Although one tin would just about do the frame, I used half of an extra tin to apply two coats. The finish is matt but, by using the varnish spray, it's now comes up quite glossy.

number one laquer for bike paint jobs
in my opinion this is the best laquer/finish out there. durable, clean and not too sticky whilst drying. excellent. i love this stuff.

Difficult, disappointing but…
Different spray from the spray.bike colours, quite difficult and I’ve ended up with disappointing results on most parts of my freshly sprayed bike. Unfortunately it ran quite easily and trying to get rid of these run marks has been difficult as it takes off the colour underneath. I believe I have sprayed too close and can see the potential of this working well but please beware you have to be very precise and it’s not to be rushed!

Good, but requires some knowledge/experience of spraying this kind of varnish
I purchased this alongside Spray.Bike paint -- the paint was great and the guide for usage was fairly comprehensive. For the lacquer, however, there were no instructions on their site. I ended up creating a fair few runs and places where it coalesced into drips mostly due to it coming out in vastly greater volume to the paint. If you're experienced with using this kind of spray-on varnish, maybe this would be no surprise -- I mean, maybe this behaves in a typical way to other lacquers. To me, however, as a novice and someone who chose Spray.Bike mostly due to how easy it looked, it was a bit of a shock to have what was actually a fairly nice, uniform paintjob, be slightly destroyed. You can fix the issues obviously, but it would've been nice to be prepared. I assumed it was similar in characteristics to the paint itself, which was an error. All in all -- probably 'works' if you know what you're doing -- it would be nice to see some information on the site about how to use the other finishing/prep items for sale other than the paint.I made a short video about my experience with the paint and varnish here --[...]

Buy automotive instead.
Not durable at all. Used two full cans after spraying the spray.bike paint, and the paint is already rubbing off after little riding. My frame bags with Velcro wore away the sheen of the finish and I fear I will have to do it all over again.
