Seventeen: A Teenage Soul in Poetry

Definitely from the Soul
I read this poetry only because I know the author. I do not thrive on poetry, but I pick this book up again and again and am always touched. These poems, written by a teenager ring so true in the heart of this woman living her 80th decade.I recommend this book to anyone who has a soul. You can pick it up and start anywhere. I am amazed, but not surprised, by how much wisdom Caylee holds and shares.

Authentic
This is a beautiful picture of authenticity of a seventeen year old: sometimes heart warming, sometimes heart wrenching. Yet she lets us into her mind and heart to experience some of what she has experienced in her young yet full life. Beautiful poetry.

Fabulous expression of a young girl's astute impressions of family ...
Fabulous expression of a young girl's astute impressions of family, friends, and the world around her. Profound honesty and skillful flow of ideas.

I love this Soul
Looking at her beautiful face, you would not know what feelings are churning deep underneath... not unless she let you in on them. She does this expertly in this book - lets you in on the turbid significance of everyday things. She writes about difficult things with sometimes startling and uncomfortable emotional rawness, and a perspective beyond her years, that leaves you with a new appreciation for the world around you, and for the soul of a contemporary teenager.
