Fantastic product for first time home waxing!
Bought this as in Lockdown due to coronavirus so cannot get out to the salon for my usual 5 weekly Hollywood wax. Understandably I was nervous attempting this at home as a complete novice. Looked up a few online tutorials and reviews of waxes found this was the best product to use for hot waxing at home.I don't have a wax warmer so was looking for something I could either heat up in the microwave or on the stove - this worked fine on my electric hob at home, however I am now looking to invest in a wax warmer as I would prefer to wax in the bathroom than in the kitchen! You can get two or three strips out of the pot before it starts to harden and needs warming up again on the stove. Obviously this will differ a little depending on how quick you are, the temperature in the room you are waxing in and the surface you put the pot down on.The wax comes already sitting in a little metal saucepan. I found the amount to be just right for a hollywood wax so doing a bikini or underarm you would probably get 3 or 4 waxes out of one kit. You pop the saucepan on a low heat for a few minutes then mix it up to a honey consistency. As I say you need to go reasonably quickly before it needed heating again. I wouldn't leave it on the stove as it would be too hot to use.The kit comes with three spatulas - one is smaller than the other two with a neat little handle to hold and mix the wax with. I found I only needed to use this one throughout as it was very convenient. The wax hardens just like it does in the salon and you just need to leave yourself a little lip of thicker wax to be able to remove the section. As online tutorials suggest smaller areas are definitely easier to remove and less painful but this worked in bigger sections also. Brilliant hair removal and not too painful (but I am used to this area being waxed!) The product had a pleasant mild smell and was a green colour, easy to see and gentle on my skin - I have sensitive skin.Inside the kit was also a bottle of after wax oil to use on the skin. The bottle looks tiny but you really don't need much of it at all - a little goes a long way! This oil felt very nice on my skin and was soothing post wax. I think it will last a long time.I am so impressed with this kit and wish I had bought one sooner. If there is ever a situation where you cannot see a professional for this kind of waxing I cannot recommend trying this out yourself. Not at all as scary as it might seem, just a little more time consuming but I expect I will get quicker as I am more practised! It is also very easy to clean up if you have any spillages but I would recommend only using this around hard surfaces, I certainly wouldn't like to try and get this out of a towel or carpet.Thank you Parissa for coming to my rescue at this tough time!I will definitely be buying it again!

Brilliant
The Parissa Strip-Free Hot Wax was just a god send. I'm a 21 year old young woman with very fair pale complexion with olive undertones & unfortunately my Dad's Asian hirsute genes which gives me a horrendous thick, extremely obvious dark verging on almost coarse girl stashe/upper lip hairs & creepy Simpsons baby-esque monobrow so I've been on a mission trying to control it all.In the past I'd tried bleaching (Joleen Sensitive version) but against my skin the newly bleached hairs just looked orange & even more obvious as well as still feeling rough to the touch. I also tried depilatory/hair removal creams (I mainly used both the Veet Sensitive + the Nair Sensitive Facial Brush On kit though I did try almost half a dozen others) both technically "worked" though not cleanly I'd often have the hair break off at certain points namely around the corner of my mouth where my hair is thicker but my main issue with hair removal creams was that despite always using the sensitive versions I'd pretty much always end up burning the skin around my mouth even though I carefully timed how long I left the cream on for & even tried taking it off early but to no avail I'd still end up taking off a lot of skin which is a) extremely painful! & takes forever to heal as well as leaving marks b)horribly unsightly & now draws more attention to my dodgy not cleanly removed stashe. Plus I found that If I used depilatory creams I have to use them twice a week as the hair free-ness for myself at least never lasted beyond 5-7 days. I have also tried Threading & although it works & gives extremely smooth results it is quite painful & personally I don't like that I have to wait for the hairs to "show" before having to go make an appointment & get the hairs taken off plus the fortnightly costs do add up rather fast.I think waxing particularly with this Parissa kit is the best option as it's relatively affordable for the amount you receive (almost 3x the amount of wax you get in "cheaper" home facial waxing kits), works brilliantly on my super sensitive skin - barely a hint of redness even if I wax over the same spot (though I rarely have had to go over the same spot twice) + the vial of Azuelene Oil that comes in the kit is extremely soothing & prevents any of those bumps or ingrowing hairs plus keeps the mouth area soft & supple, it is easy to use I just heat mine on the hob (takes about 3 minutes but do keep an eye on it!) then place it on to an old tea cup saucer also the handles does get very hot so ensure you have a flannel/dish cloth something on hand to hold onto it with - what I do with mine is melt it all down until it's completely liquidiy then take it into the bathroom with me & wait until it turns into the texture of runny honey or a gel like substance that's when it's best to use but do try work quickly as it will firm up rather fast (though another trip down to the stove can easily rectify that - in my first two goes I had to go back to the stove twice - keep in mind you don't need strips just wait for the wax to firm up a bit then hold skin taut with one hand & pull off with the other. Also another tip is to make sure your face is freshly washed/cleansed but do not moisturise & properly free of grime/products/makeup & it helps to lightly apply powder (I find baby powder works best but any talc or translucent will do) to the upper lip area particularly the dip above the cupids bow & corners to help the wax grip properly. When I use the Parissa wax it leaves me hair free for about a week & a half to just under two weeks. & a single box lasts me about 2 months & a bit so really a holy grail product for me. Oh yeah the product once melted does have a strong almost vapo rub/herbal-ish scent that others in your abode will be able to pick up - so do air out your kitchen. Sorry it's so long I just wanted to put everything out there as I usually have so much trouble & have tried countless products which have never fully worked for me - but I wanted to be really honest & detailed in case there are other kindred souls out there like myself who just want something that will actually work.
