Good,entertaining toy.
Already bought our dog the Buddy that has a rope hanging out of it in the shape of a bottle which he loves but he worked out how to get the maximum amount of treats out very quickly and decided to get him this for Christmas. He loves this just as much as the other Buddy but this one takes a bit more effort to get the treats out of because of its egg shape which means that it does not roll straight and the treats generally do not fall straight out when pushed along the ground. Treats come out of both of the ends and the plastic teeth inside can be trimmed if the treats it dispenses are quite large but we didn't have to do this as we put a portion of his food in for him to work at while we are at work. He can just about pick it up,he is a large GSD,but hasn't broken it as the plastic parts of the toy are well covered with a rubber cage . A bit fiddly to do back up once you have put food inside and takes a while to get it into the groove where you can do it back up but apart from that this is a worthwhile toy to keep him equally amused and frustrated to the point where he knocks it against my legs as he knows I will kick it away and as I do treats come spilling out, sly!

Great quality and fun for your dog.
I bought this along with the tug a jug for my 11 month old, toy destructive staffie/springer cross. She eviscerates a soft toy in less than an hour. She really liked this toy and would play with it using her paws, football fashion, nose, head and mouth to move it around the floor for ages, getting her food out of it. It was entertaining to watch but she tired of it after a while and now only occasionally plays with it. I think she does get easily bored of things so I have to keep her well motivated by ringing the changes with toys.Other reviewers had trouble twisting the two parts together, it is a bit tricky but if you line the two halves up together then twist backwards, it clicks into place and you can twist it shut. I had the problem of it twisting open while she played with it and kept having to screw it back together. As with the tug a jug, it is a quality product made from durable components and well constructed, virtually indestructible. Unlike other toys that release food, there are no parts that a dog can chew off and the food just fall out. The soft rubber mesh type pattern around the outside protects flooring and furniture from overenthusiastic play and does make a good noise on hard flooring, adding to the excitement!

Does exactly what it sets out to - but could be better.
3 stars - "It's okay"Certainly stops our Sprocker from wolfing her food down and gives her some mental stimulation at the same time, so from that perspective it's great! You trim the outlets where the food comes out appropriately for your dogs kibble, which is useful, but err on the side of caution as trim too much an suddenly it's going to be far less of a challenge for your dog to get their food out. There are however a few things that prevent it being perfect:1) The threads to screw the two halves together do not have a very good lead in - i.e. it can be very fiddly to get the thread to engage properly, meaning you can be stood there for several minutes trying to screw two bits of plastic together whilst also not trying to drop kibble everywhere.2) It didn't take our dog long to realise what it's all about, so it very quickly became a case of smashing the thing around the house as hard as possible to get the food out - whilst it is rubberised and unlikely to cause damage - it makes a hell of a noise banging into doors and furniture.3) Difficult to explain in words, but the design of the holes where the food comes out is such that once down to the last few pieces of kibble, it's virtually impossible to get them out - cue lots more of issue 2 unless you manually intervene.

If it comes apart too easily you haven't tightened it! Don't be put off.
Just thought i should post a review to counter all those that say it comes apart too easily. The first time we used it it did come apart. You just need to tighten a little bit more when you feel resistance. Then you will feel it bind and it will not open. We have never had it come apart since and we have a Vizsla puppy. We used the small one for 2 months and have now moved on to the big one. Our puppy loves it, wags her tail throughout and is completely engaged. For a young puppy, it really helps her calm down in the morning. 15 minutes with the food ball and then she settles down for a rest. And it gives you a bit or respite from really young puppies.I throughly recommend it.

Comes apart too easily. Too limited.
Can't recommend this. My puppy had it opened on the first feeding session. The "meter" system sounds smart, but is nothing more than bits of rubber that can be hacked up to suit different kibble sizes and/or owner preferences. Might as well make something yourself at that point. It's pretty limited in that it's too focused around kibble and won't suit basically any other treat, too. The design is basically terrible. Construction quality is OK, but my pup was a bit frustrated with it, and wanted to bit into the hard plastic (not good) to get at the food, more than play with it.

Excellent Toy
I have bought 3 of these now, they come in two sizes. I have ordered the large each time, firstly for one of my dogs as she carries alot of weight despite dieting and prefers to loll around on the sofa than move around. This toy encourages the dog to move around (can be fairly noisy on wood floors) and push and pull and kick the toy around for the kibble to come out. This is the first time since I adopted my dog that she has shown any interest in a toy and it keeps her on the move, interacting with the toy to get her reward. As this was such a hit I ordered more for other rescue dogs. the container unscrews and you must ensure it is tightly screwed back on as some enthusiastic bashing caused it to open twice much to the delight of my dog.I don't feed my own dogs dry food so after much consideration I ordered Fat Dog Slim and put a handful in, then I reduce her raw food accordingly. the internal rubbery prongs can be snipped to allow for different kibble sizes

Great in theory but the screw thread is flimsy
I really had high hopes for this toy but both of them unscrew so easily, it becomes pretty much useless and I may as well have put it in a bowl
