Works better than expected!
I've been meaning to get a new capture device for a while now but the prices for the best capture cards were just too much for me to ever want or feel the need to spend the money on it. Needless to say my Avermedia C875 was just to outdated and could only output 720p 60fps. I really wanted some good capture for YouTube videos I had planned so I finally decided now was the time to buy a new capture card.A while back, I came across the 4K HDMI Video Capture Card at a MicroCenter location and two things got my attention the price and the fact that it could at least capture 1440p(2K) 60fps. I was not ready to pull the trigger right then but I kept it in mind and finally decided to grab it mainly out of desperation.I'm glad to report that it is better than I could have ever imagined! At first I was a bit worried about the fact that I would have to view the capture through my PC. I mainly capture games and my older capture card had a serious amount of lag when you previewed the video from the software but there was an hdmi out the capture card that allowed you to pass through the video to your TV so I never had to worry about that.Thankfully times have changed and the usb-c 3.2 Gen 1 connection ensures that you get low latency and it definitely worked! Even before playing a game, the mouse latency was great so I definitely breathed a sigh of relief on that one.I used OBS to capture my second PC and it immediately picked it up no special software needed like my old capture card. Initially, Windows 10 picked up 4K 30fps for the capture card so I did have to manually make changes to ensure it was using 1440p 60fps. I also checked to see if it could in fact capture 1080p at 120fps and it certainly did.The biggest challenge was getting the audio to work on OBS but after some quick research that was working as well.It was unreal to me that I was using OBS and it was easy to forget that OBS was even there when I put the preview in full screen. I've already done a few captures and I'm definitely happy with the results so far. It's really nice to have a capture card as the current video card I'm using on the PC just doesn't have the power to capture and give good performance at the same time.I would definitely recommend getting this card if you're on a budget and want something that can at least get you a 1440p 60fps capture. To be honest telling the difference between 4K and 1440p is definitely something I can't pick up off the bat so safe to say I'm going to be okay with this capture card for a long time until I can upgrade to something better.

j5create capture card 4k30fps
The build quality on this unit was decent. It features a metal body with plastic end caps. The included cable was good thickness and features a USB type C end (with additional C to A adaptor). The plug fitment for the hdmi was average (snug but a bit gritty).Function wise I was happy with this cable. My first test with a random old hdmi went poorly, but once I switched to a new hdmi 2.1 cable things got much better. I used this with my switch (only 1080p at 30hrtz) and the record quality with OBS was good. The input was detected imediately by both my windows 11 and windows 10 systems. The video input had no issues, but I had to fight with the audio a little. The audio through the dedicated channel was silent, but when assigned as a secondary mic the audio was picked up just fine. Not a big deal really, it just took a few minutes to figure out. I hooked up a windows 10 laptop to confirm the 4K function and 4k30fps was streamed and recorded.I dont have any real complaints about this unit, it gets the job done and was mostly plug and play. The OBS software it works with is free and was easy to download (you can use other software as well). At $70 for a 4k30hrtz the price seems reasonable (more than no name brands, but less than well known name brands).
