Salt dough snowflakes
As compared to the star cutters also made by lakeland which I have reviewed, this are much easier to use, and allow you to use your own personality. I think an 8yr old child would get pleasing results. The snowflakes s are larger than the star cutters. (See 2nd image, also 1st image shows snowflakes from each method. I used a design I found on google (Salt dough snowflakes). Roll out circle of dough. make a hole in the centre. Very lightly mark 2 diameters at right angles. Use the tear drop cutter and cut 8 holes in a ring evenly around the centre. Build your pattern around this, again in a circle using the diamond.I found the cutters exactly the right size for the project. Quite often the dough come away with cutter, but if not I used a lino-cutter took, but a cotton bud or a vegetable knife are alternatives.A 2'' across circular metal cutter is a good size to work with for your base to cut shapes out of.Decoration etc. Dry out the salt dough in a slow oven, Then I used a very gentle spray of red paint over part of each, then smeared gold metallic acrylic paint and acrylic iridescent paint. I used a tiny amount of paint on my finger and smeared it on, building up the effect I wanted. (I happened to have these. Acrylic paint is fine , and try smear it in various coloursRelatively quick to make and a set of nice individual presents at a ver cheap price. (Since used gold and silver foil and tiny 'washers from a broken necklace - just enjoy! If they break, with care I used fast setting woodworker's adhesive and found it works very well. Don't forget to make a hole for the ribbon, but you can also glue the ribbon, but they does not hang as well.I pulled my mark down as to sturdiness, as they can fall on the floor and cannot cope with the heavy foot! Once squashed they are tricky to force back to their original shape. Several designs in the selection I will never use. and some repetition of shapes. They are just the right thing for this task although it os not listed in the description.Childen would love to make their Christmas decorations, and with care they could last several years. (No doubt grannies will enjoy helping them.

So happy to find these
Needed to make Minecraft figures for a cake but could find square cutters that were deep enough to make the blocks for bodies and heads… until I got these. They are perfect for the job, durable and great range of sizes. Feel more expensive than they were so I’m sure they will last the test of time

Perfect for the job!
I purchased these as I wanted to bake a jammy dodgy type biscuit; a two layer biscuit with a hole in the top layer to allow you to see the icing which sandwiched the two together, these cutters worked brilliantly and I successfully made an assortment of biscuits. They are very small, the tin they come in fits easily in the palm of your hand. I would guess each cutter is approximately 1-2cm accross. There is a nice selection of shapes. They are quite deep so you are able to easily use them on thick dough, icing or marzipan. I had no problems with dough sticking to them and they cut nice, sharp edges. It is also easy to push out the shape which has been cut.Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase and would recommend them to anybody who enjoys baking. They are well worth the money, and look like they will last a long time. It is also very handy to have them all in one place.

Fabulous
Excellent cutters, I decorated a birthday cake and the shapes came out perfectly, and that was using them with royale icing. When I then went on to do actual cookies, they came out nice sized, and I could vary how thick I made the cookies and icing them was fun and my nephew had great fun, I know most leaves but for a young person the only thing I'd recommend is that you label what the leaves are. Other then that I'm really pleased with these, thanks :-)

I can see them being very useful but it was hard to judge the size of ...
This arrived very quickly and they are well presented in a tin which keeps them all together. I wanted initially to use these for potato cuts for the children at Messy Church and one is certainly close enough to vine leaves for that purpose. I can see them being very useful but it was hard to judge the size of each leaf before purchase. They are generally not too small for biscuits and certainly a good size for fondant or in my case potatoes !

One bite size biscuit cutters
A bit disappointed as they were not as big as I had expected, in fact quite tiny, but they are well made and will do the job. My fault, I should have read the description which gives the size of the tin and one of the answers to a question also gives the exact sizing of the leaves so I could have worked out how big they were.On the plus side they will make lots and lots of one bite size biscuits and the selection of leaf shapes is excellent - far more than others I've seen. I'm sure they'll be useful - could also use them for decorating cakes and as templates for craft work.

Tiny cutters
Good quality tiny cutters, the only comment I would make is that there is a seam on the shapes themselves from how they have been formed. This hasn't affected cutting shapes for me and I would still recommend them to anyone who wants some teeny tiny shape cutters (they really are little, you can just fit a pencil through the hole of most of them, without that much space spare - to give you a better idea of size).

Sizing
Very nice set only problem for me I must have got the sizing wrong as they are so tiny , no good for what I wanted them for.
