These are great little bug pots
These are great little bug pots, the kids had a great time finding things and inspecting them closely. I'm not sure the wildlife enjoyed it as much though. The only reason I didn't give five stars is that the pots are a little bit brittle and a couple of them cracked as the children took the lids on and off. You have to get the lid the right way up so that it snaps onto the pot; if the child has the lid the wrong way up, they press hard to try to make it snap on but this only causes the pot to crack.

Good but too fragile
Edited after a year's use. These are good value, a good size (large enough for all British wasps, bees, and most beetles and all but the largest moths, but too small for most butterflies), with rough 5mm grid markings and a magnifying lens lid. However they are ultimately rather fragile - the lids don't push into the pot all that easily, and if you force it, the pot can crack, although they don't break apart when that happens. After a few months of moderate use, all of them broke in this way, though the lenses will still be useful Good for catching, observing, and showing medium-sized insect, but handle with care!

Lids are fiddly to clip in.
These are great for bumble bees and smaller butterflies. But the lids are a bit fiddly to pop in. Otherwise they are ok. I would not buy these again.

They’re small, suitable for the smaller species.
Quite small, good for small beetles, wouldn’t comfortably accommodate a snail for instance. Very good quality jar and magnifying glass. The grid on the bottom is well printed. Overall a very good buy.

Fit for purpose but poor quality pots
The pots themselves are great; however, 3 of the 10 split when placing on the lid. These are still useable but it is disappointing that they cracked on first use.

Easy to use for children
My son loved exploring our garden using these and has enjoyed naming all the insects.

Seen sturdy
Haven't used them yet, Seem sturdy, not sure how many of the lids I'll still have after a session with 30 kids though!! 😬

The best ideas are the simple ones
What a simple idea..... inexpensive little pots with magnifying lids. Kids love hunting for things, and with these in their hands it will keep them occupied for hours looking for bugs in the garden or park. Team the pots up with an Insect City and you will have the makings of young entomologists of the future!
