What have I done??
I used this to try and remove the last traces of a purple box dye that didn't turn out as expected . The plan was use this and apply a dye that I thought was ok. Used as instructed and when it came to brushing/combing my hair through I almost cried. I looked like I had back combed my hair with barbed wire. A normal wide tooth comb wouldn't touch it in fact I actually snapped it. I thought well, you have done some terrible things to your hair over the years this is pay back time. In desperation I used the dogs stainless steel hair matt comb. It worked with very little hair loss. After a good brush and letting hair dry naturally I was amazed-- silky, very little if any of the disaster hair dye remained and non the worse for my harsh treatment. So I slapped on the new dye and can honestly say my hair is fantastic. So yes, your hair will be a tangled rats nest- especially if its long like mine, but it will all work out in the end. Another bonus is how little you need so the bottle will last ages. I really like this stuff and would tell anyone with doubts, just go ahead the end result is incredible.

Fantastic product
Having used various box dyes on my hair for years, I noticed it was looking dull, heavy and lifeless so I thought I’d give a clarifying shampoo a go!After 3 uses, my hair looks and feels so much better; it’s shiny and so soft and just feels more lightweight. I noticed an improvement on the roots after the first use but it took a further shampoo to help the ends where the build up was more.Like other reviewers noted, my hair was tangled after rinsing the shampoo off, but as I was not applying a dye I simply used my usual conditioner and ran a comb through it - once dry I couldn’t believe the transformation! Would absolutely recommend this shampoo.

It works!
After reading reviews I was prepared to get some tangles in my hair when using this clarifying shampoo. But my straight silky hair became a birds nest! Fortunately I had a comb to hand but it took me a while to detangle and I lost a lot of hair! Not very pleasant! However after then using the Scott Cornwall toner my hair is fab! So silky and the purple build up underneath is gone as are any brassy streaks! It was a bit of an ordeal but I knew I needed to do it and the result is good. I'm going to buy a better, larger, wide tooth comb and use this shampoo every month from now on.

Not good for me
The media could not be loaded. I used garnier nutrisse midnight blue for years, but I'm 43 years old and my grey hair started showing up, so I want to go brown or some colour what would help my grey hair too. Maybe shampoo is good, but for my hair was no different at all. Waiting to get dry til I can brush it. I've ordered now hair colour removal, which I'm going to use tomorrow. Lord have mercy. Hopefully I won't loose rest of my hair.Tbh shampoo can be good, but not for as much a dyied my hair for years. Hopefully this will help xxx

A good, reasonably priced clarifying shampoo
I thought I'd review this product to clear up some of the other issues other reviewers have experienced.First of all - this is a clarifying shampoo. Of course it is going to make your hair knotty. To deal with this, I'd advise brushing your hair before getting in the shower and applying this. Secondly, if like me you want to use this as a general clarifying shampoo (to get rid of product build up once a month) rather than as a pre-treatment to hair dye, then definitely use conditioner afterwards. This will make getting any tangles or knots out far easier.Personally my routine went like this: brush hair -> clarifying shampoo -> conditioner -> brush at this point it was still knotty, so I went normal shampoo -> conditioner and then it was much easier to brush. The result was squeaky clean hair. This bottle will last me at least 4 washes and given that I would only use it once a month, that is very good value. If you're looking for an effective, reasonably priced clarifying shampoo, I recommend this product.
