Amazing 7.2 Atmos and DTS-X audio processor
I upgraded from a Marantz SR6005 that had previously and the difference is very noticeable.just be carful about which speakers you match it with because its not a very powerful outsource. but should work perfectly with almost any standard 8ohm satellite or shelf speaker size.compact size and relatively easy configuration through included Audyssey, sadly only higher versions include the DIRAC config

Good for home theatre
I set up this machines for home theatre and music listening with some klipsch speakers. Itâs amazing.

Fantastic Sound
I have been on the fence about trying out a Marantz receiver for many years now. I started out with an older Onkyo, then upgraded to a Yamaha, then to Denon x1300w which this cinema 70s has replaced. The difference is absolutely night and day.Setup was incredibly simple out of the box. I paired the receiver with an Emotiva BasX 3-channel amplifier for the LCR channels. 160w into 8ohms with even more into 4ohms. My system is comprised of Triangle Genese Trio bookshelf speakers with the Voce center channel, two Klipsch in ceiling speaker for rear surround, and two 15" klipsch r-15sw. Absolutely crystal clear sound. Everything sounds good. Now for the actual use of the receiver, the software and menu navigation is very quick and responsive. Initially there was some screen blacking out when using the sound field changer. That seems to have gone away somehow so no issues now. You can have two presets for your audyssey room correction settings, which (if you're like me and cycle through speakers here and there) is pretty fantastic for plug and play goodness. The size of the receiver maybe shorter than the average AV unit, but it is just as wide. Heat dissipation seems fine due to not as high of a draw in terms of power, which a set of klipsch speakers were basically singing with. All in all, a great AVR for those who prefer simplicity and like their equipment separate in terms of processing and power.

Great receiver. Network control needs work
Sound is phenomenal and so is video quality. Setup is easy and controls are plentiful. Only downside (reason for the 4 stars) is the network control. The app often stops controlling the unit for some functions and misreports its status. Easily remedied with the supplied remote butâŚEven comes with wire labels and a cardboard âtripodâ for the setup mic. And the price was excellent.

Love it. And the remote doesnât look like an afterthought.
Idk if I needed to spend this much to replace my 10yo Yamaha, but Iâm glad I did.Had a bunch of weird setup pains but firmware evidently needs to be updated in sequence, because the problems went away after I discovered there was a Second update to do.Lots of features are locked out until you do the room correction process, which is weird to me but thatâs fineLove love love the little things; HDMI Control (power on/off other devices in the chain) works great where it was finicky on my last AVR. Phono sounds really nice and precludes my poorly little preamp box I had been using. Probably my favorite is AirPlay; the Cinema 60 will âwake from LANâ and turn itself on if I choose it from my iPhone, and itâs smart enough to know AirPlay is just for music so it wonât turn on my tv to do it. My old AVR didnât even have bluetooth so this is a real treat.

No Marantz Warranty
In September of 2023, I purchased a Marantz Cinema 70s AVR from one of Amazon's partners via this website. About a week ago, the headphone jack on the AVR quit working, which is a problem for me because the AVR is located in my bedroom. In any event, Marantz denied my claim for a warranty repair on the ground that the vendor (Amazon's partner) is not an authorized Marantz dealer. I have to accept some of the blame because I did not ask Marantz or Amazon about the vendor's legal status. On the other hand, neither Amazon nor the vendor disclosed the fact that I would not be receiving a Marantz warranty with my purchase. Had I known that fact, I would have purchased the AVR elsewhere. As the old saying goes, Caveat Emptor.
