Solid construction, be cautious of fit, can be modified to fit
Product is of solid construction, however, note that the fit on an old rigid 12 gallon, 5 hp may/will not fit. Shaft is too loose and does not fit snug into exhaust port. It does "clip" into the port, but there is at least 1/8 space around the tube in the port while it "floats" in place. Not optimal this way. Was able to engineer a fix where i chopped off the clip mechanism, sanded smooth and inserted / slipped on a chopped off true male 2.5 inch plastic end of a rarely used wet vac accessory and grafted/ force fit it on to the end of this then inserted into the exhaust port and it fit and worked fine.Read other reviews as well to get the gist. Sounds like there is a difference in older rigid vacs vs newer ones. Either way, a handy person can engineer a fix.Noise is reduced slightly. Additional exhaust spray is reduced more so in my opinion.

Fits well
Lost mine several years ago, this fit perfectly and works like a charm on my shop vac. Definitely minimizes the fine dust that's coming out.

Looks like a Craftsman CMXZVBE38660, but there are differences!
My search for another Craftsman CMXZVBE38660 came across this palart Cmxzvbe38660...The pros:+ Cost about $10 less than the Craftsman, with free Amazon shipping.+ Pretty good customer reviews.The cons:- The foam filter is thinner & not one piece, it's stitched together, unlike the one on the Craftsman CMXZVBE38660.- The tube fitment was too tight, I had to file down the tube flashing to get a good ft.Closing remarks:▪ Obviously not a Craftsman CMXZVBE38660, but cost less & it is functional!▪ On hindsight, I should have paid more for the Craftsman CMXZVBE38660!
