Samsung DA29-10105J External Water Filter Cartridge, Pack of 2

We recently bought the OEM versions as these aren't cheap - ouch, all 6 of us independently said the water tasted completely different - I can't explain what it was, but I am sticking to these ones from Samsung as I had to throw the OEM ones in the bin!

There was a few mentions in comments on amazon that these were not Samsung originals. I don't know why though as they are exactly the same as the one that was delivered with my fridge. What I will say is that they are a bit fiddly to fit, not difficult, and the instructions are pretty clear but maybe Samsung could have made it a bit easier. There is a small clip which has to be removed and replaced on the new filter so you have to be careful not to lose it. The filter on my fridge is placed on top and there is not much of the water line to work with so that also didn't help. Ovearll a good product and a good price.

Took two minutes to fit as it comes with easy to follow instructions. I did find the water hardness reduce after fitting it. Water was a bit cloudy for the first week or so. Research suggested, it was carbon and not dangerous. It would have been helpful if it had said this on the box..

Got two filters in a pack which was, as it turned out a good thing. I disconnected the old one and attached the new one but the pipe was a bit damaged and it leaked from the connection. I tried to take the pipe out of the filter but it would not move in the end I had to cut the pipe and use the second filter. So make sure that the pipe is in good condition and that you get a good connection or you may as I did waste a filter.

great replacement .... easy done... make sure you push the water lead hard into the product to get a natural seal, there is a direction arrow shown on the product so you know which is the inlet and which is the outlet but you need to look hard for them as they are quite small .... i got the 2 pack so i can have a replacement filter to hand which feeds into the water dispenser in the fridge ...

When I opened the box I knew that it was exactly what I had ordered. I felt proud of my achievement and went to bed later feeling content with my task fulfillment.

The are the original Samsung filters. Not massively easy to install, the main thing is to remember to push the tube in hard enough. You need to flush through some water before connecting to the fridge - I think next time, I will buy a length of tubing, so that I can drain it directly into the sink.The water tastes great and flows better since filter was replaced.

Great buy you do get some black water through it when flushing through but it does say that on the instructions, the secret is to keep some of the 1/4" hose from the plumbing in kit so that you can connect this to the outlet of the filter and flush it through into a bucket before connecting to the fridge that way you dont contaminate the fridge water or ice maker.
