Forget about it The built in thermostat means the Classic Long runs itself and won't bother you at all. When the radiator is hot, your Classic Long turns itself on. Ever wonder why your feet are cold? Most of the heat leaving your radiator goes straight up and gets trapped at the ceiling or is lost through your window leaving you feeling cold. Redirect the warm air Ultra low power fans in the Radfan move the warm air to where it's needed. Warmth where you want it Radfan's unique designs increase the warm air flow and puts the warmth where you want it most, making you warmer and more comfortable. 30 seconds to install The Radfan is super quick to install. Simply take it out of the box, plonk it on top of your radiator, plug it in and forget about it - the Radfan will turn on when your radiator gets warm and off again when it cools down. No plumber or electrician needed, it's as easy to install as a desk lamp. About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words.Simple, Ingenious, EffectiveHow did you come up with the idea for this product?A few years ago I was sat on the sofa next to my wife and she would always complain about being too cold, even though the central heating was on and the radiators were warm. It was clear that all the heat from the radiator was going straight up, escaping out of the window or getting trapped at the ceiling. I decided to see if I could redirect that heat flow out into the room and that's where the idea for the Radfan was born. The initial prototype was a great success, not only did we feel warmer, my wife stopped complaining! What makes your product special? The Radfan is the only product on the market that is guaranteed to make your home warmer, without having to spend more on your energy bills. What has been the best part of your startup experience? The best part of the startup experience for us has been the freedom to create and come up with new ideas. We love being able to try new concepts, whether it be in product design, marketing or customer service and get instant feedback from our customers. We are really proud of what we have achieved, this job can be hard-work, but it is never boring! Good and bad
Good and bad. It does what it says for my space. I did notice an increase in the room temperature, so I decided to keep track with an electronic thermometer. My biggish studio room (20 sq meters) has one large double gas radiator, and with the heating in full blast will go up to 22c in the middle half of the room closer to the radiator and to 20c in the other half, further away for the radiator. 3 of the walls are external, and have 2 big single glazed windows. These measures were taken in 4 nights that external temp was between 0c and 5c. After installing the rad fan, I saw an increase of 1-1.5c in the colder part of the room. That is good enough for me to justify its use.The actual product, looks very meh, it is quite unsightly and cheap looking, but I am rating it for function over looks. The price point is ridiculous for the materials and quality of build, but in all fairness, if they make it sleek looking they will probably double the price so.....Noice wise, it is noticeable, much much lower than a fan heater, more like a noise PC. The fans are weak, do not push warm air more than a few inches away, but if they install more powerful fans, then the noice will be a problem for most. I don’t even believe that it would make a difference for heating the room...as the main function it provided is to prevent hot air blowing upwards, even with this small redistribution of hot air, it is efficient enough. Would I buy it again? Definitely, even if I felt conned by they price point, as this is the only one in the market that makes sense from a function point of view....when Chinese competitors catch up, if radfan maintains this price point, they will be in trouble.

It works well, could be made a bit nicer looking
These fans really do work, I have 2 of them on a long radiator and they come on automatically whenever they detect heat build-up under it. My wife has now started using it to dry clothes near the heater as it makes the clothes dry quicker when the fans are on. The fans are reasonably quiet, we have them in the living room, they are as loud as a desktop PC that is running; it's not an annoying sound. When we have the TV on, you don't even notice it and even when sitting on the sofa reading a book, you quickly learn to ignore it as if it wasn't even making noise. So, the reason for the 3 stars is because it's not the best-looking thing, its cheap-looking plastic, the cuts of the plastic also don't seem smooth so it kind of looks tacky from near but it's okay from far. For the quality and what it really is, I think the price is extortionate as it probably cost them £5 to make in China; but there is no other product on the market like it (that has auto start and stop) so I guess they can charge what they like and if people want it, they have to pay the price.

KEEP THE COLD WHERE IT BELONGS OUTSIDE
This is the second radfan I have purchased. My first purchase was a small radfan for my hall. This medium radfan is now in my bedroom, this has made a massive difference in how warm my bedroom is now.this has saved me the price of buying new radiator and the time involved in fitting it.under 5 minutes this unit was fitted and working.I urge anyone who has a cold room with a radiator to buy a radfan, check the size you need, place ontop of your radiator, plug this into a normal wall socket and switch on, the magnets keep this sturdy.this is very quiet and you may not hear when the fans are running, when the radiator cools down it automatically turns off. And the opposite when the radiator heats up it turns the fans on.no more cold rooms with this gadget.

Excellent but
I debated for about a month before buying one and I now have two radfans- a large one in sitting room to direct heat into the room as radiator is below a bay window that sucks the heat out of the room and one in kitchen as table is against the radiator blocking the heat and they are great. I’ve noticed a big improvement to warmth in both rooms. You can hear the fans going but it’s not a noticeable intrusive noise. Just a hum in background. Not noticed any additional costs to electric bill - but the gas bill has gone down as I now get to turn heating down, and dont have to resort to tucking curtains behind radiator to try and keep the heat in. Can’t recommend highly enough.

The product its self has made a dramatic improvement to the warmth in the kitchen. A little noiser than expected but against the increase in heat distribution across the kitchen makes it not too much of a problem. If the fan was to go in the living room then it would be a problem.Im only rating 3 stars because when my fan arrived one of the magnetic wings that hang down to secure to radiator was snapped off. I called radfan who wouldnt provide me with a new wing, but instead told me to send the whole unit back to amazon and exchange it for a new one which i couldnt be hassled about, so -1 star radfan for not helping a customer out.

A very good heat distributor.
The fan sits on top of my radiator and when the radiator becomes hot it distributes the heat throughout the room. Before this, the heat went up between the curtains and was lost to some extent, or it heated the ceiling. It has been a very good investment and certainly makes the room temperature more comfortable. There is a certain amount of fan noise and if you had tinnitus or extremely sensitive hearing it might be an issue. However if it's in a room where the TV is on, you can't hear it. I am delighted with it.

Good when they work
I liked this enough to buy a second one, but find it frustrating that the fans only kick in when the temperature reaches 22 degrees. It would be better if they worked at 18-20 degrees. However, when they are working, they are effective.

It is thermal activated - good It is low energy consumption - good Its quite ...
I am a little underwhelmed with this product.. It does what it says for the most part.It is thermal activated - goodIt is low energy consumption - goodIts quite - GoodLow air movement - BadColor (what color is it) - BadFeels Cheap - BadThe Videos show that its pushing the hot air far away into the middle of the room creating this thermal heating convection action.Eh.. No.. I can feel the fans blowing maybe 2-4 inches away from the unit and that is pushing it.I will give it a few more days and see if anyone notices it..
