Superb product.
I bought an expensive Kingsize, fitted Morphy-Richards electric blanket and it worked o.k. until the little knobs on both dual controls broke off. They appear to be made of gossamer and fairy dust. I contacted them to attempt to purchase new power leads but surprise, surprise they don't sell them. So, despite being less than 2 years old they wanted me to buy a new one from them. Yeah, right. So, needing a new one I looked at the reviews on here and decided to buy.....Enter the Homefront Premium King Size, fully fitted, luxury fleece, heated mattress cover with dual controls....(so the bride can once again have her own settings without me having to freeze / overheat as her whim takes her).If Carlsberg did electric blankets.................this would be the one. It was very easy to fit and unlike the large, clunky, not so well placed Morphy-Richards ones, the electrical connections don't 'stab' you in the arms. So that was a good start. It only took a few moments to heat up and glory of glories, it heats the whole bed, not just a little area in the middle and it heats it to a toasty warmth. Not only that but it has two heat zones. One for the body and one for the feet. You can have either on or off so if you just want to keep your tootsies aglow or want them cool while you bake to a turn elsewhere you can do it.It gets better though, because each side of the bed now has 9 heat settings available. If you want the full bore heat go to 9, if you want just a trickle of heat choose a lower setting. It works. It really does. The goodies don't stop there. The blanket has a timer so you can choose when to have the heat turn off. You won't fall asleep and wake up three hours later drenched in perspiration - unless you want to of course. This is simply the best electric blanket I can imagine. Apart from giving you a full body massage while whispering endearments in your ear I don't know what else you would need. It also was a really good price for the apparent quality and specs. I'll come back in a year to let you know if the knobs have fallen off in a Morphy-Richardsesque death dance.Edit on 7th feb. 2013. As I promised I have come back after just over a year and have gone through two pretty harsh winters. Everything I previously posted about this product I re-endorse. It is simply perfect for the job. The fact that you can set the timer for 1, 3, 8 or 12 hours duration and have different heat zone temperatures is just the bee's knees. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

Quality product
There's nothing I don't like but quite a lot I love. Firstly it's got a lovely fleece cover, it's quick and easy to fit. It heats quickly and love the fact one can choose to heat either the top or bottom of the blanket separately. It's got a timer so set your temperature and timer and drift off to sleep.

A good effective product
I have a very cold bedroom which why I bought this and it has made the past two cold winters so much more bearable.I've not owned an electric blanket before so I cant' say how this compares to others. The fleecy cover does in itself provide warmth indirectly by acting as insulation against cold air coming up through the mattress. It seems to take around 30 minutes to warm up which is fine. The 4 way independent control is great, left and right, feet and body. The foot zone though seems to be just the last 12 inches of the mattress which is fine if you are as tall as your mattress and sleep fully stretched out, I don't so find it just provides proximity warmth. Even though I have a cold bedroom I've found that the heat from the product is too high to have on whilst sleeping, certainly for the body zone, it's just about possible with just the foot zone on at the lowest temperature. It is machine washable but my kingsize one is too bulky for my 9kg washing machine, which means using a launderette instead. My only gripes are the controls. Firstly they don't remember your last settings, which I think is a real pain, every time you switch it on it defaults to the maximum temperature for all 4 zones and for the shortest time, so on both sides of the bed you have to adjust the controls. Secondly the little LED lights are way too bright, the one which indicates the 12 hours setting is so bright it lights up the room, I have to cover them with socks in order to be able to get to sleep.
