The Silence of the Lambs [Blu-ray] [1991] [2009]

Good film.

The film is beautifully shot, the script is absolutely perfect, and the editing is completely top notch. All the actors are so convincing and believable, obviously notably Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins, as Clarice and Hannibal respectively. So faithful to the brilliant novel, with the pacing keeping you on the edge of your seat throughout, no scene wasted or prolonged, wanting us to spend more time with the fabulous protagonists and leaving us wanting more.Ambitious Clarice Starling, a trainee at the FBI - hoping to join John Crawford's Behaviour Unit - is instructed to interview once-celebrated psychiatrist, now serial killer Hannibal "Cannibal" Lector. Clarice is hungry to advance and distinguish herself from her humble origins and to find "Buffalo Bill", a terrifying serial killer killing and skinning women. From the interview onward, brave but vulnerable Clarice is thrust into a race against time when "Buffalo Bill" abducts the daughter of a senator and the FBI have three days to track Bill and save Catherine.The intriguing, frank relationship between Clarice and Hannibal is what makes this film so unbelievably compelling. Not only the brilliant script and incredibly acting, but the direction and cinematography is second to none. The score is also deeply affecting and profound. I've seen this film at least a dozen times and I get thrills every time. I dare you not to love this film.

Great movie on blu ray in high definition.I've got this on a rental VHS (still in Good condition) but decided it was time to upgrade to blu ray to ensure excellent picture & sound quality and this disc doesn't disappoint.It's a great movie that can be watched over & over great acting from the cast.Recommended 😊😊 10/10

Silence of the Lambs, I did see it back in the early 1990s, interesting film, it was a big film when it came out and it nice to have as part of the collection of 1980s and 1990s films, of course I brought it from Amazon where I buy all my DVDs, decent prices and fast delivery and they have not let me down yet

The classic horror style of leaving the viewer to create their own fear through alluding to grotesque events without showing them in detail really comes through in this film. The subtle hints towards what scare is about to come is excellent and lets the viewer see inside the mind of Hannibal Lecter on several occasions.The only thing stopping me from giving this a perfect 5 is the whole "transsexual" Buffalo Bill issue. It's a shame the producers didn't alter it so that he merely wanted to create the 'perfect' woman, or something similar as it is even stated in the film that he isn't really trans, that he just hates himself so much he wants to become something completely different. The (now) old school language and attitudes surrounding this issue is what dates the film and shifts its place as a timeless classic.

Truly terrifying, this film certainly lives up to its fantastic reviews. Hannibal Lecter is a brilliant villian who you come to like by the end of the film - yes he's a demented cannibal, but he's also witty and very funny in his totally unique way.Jodie Foster also plays a part in making this film brilliant - I have to say that this is the best film I've seen her in. You can really believe that she's her character - her fear right at the end of the film when she's stuck in the same room as Buffalo Bill and has no idea, and how uncomfortable she becomes when Lecter grills her about her past make her character very believable.I think I'm the only one out of my friends who has ever seen this film, and though I'm trying to convince them to see it they all refuse, saying that it sounds absolutely terrifying. Indeed it was the first time I saw it (I made a point to watch it in daylight), but it's so clever and gripping for a horror film, and the fact that it's so realistic makes it more scary.I recommend this to people who are looking for a real classic film and don't mind horrors too much - those who get scared easily probably wouldn't enjoy it as much as they should!

This is a classic film, beautifully written, scripted, shot and played by the brilliant actor Anthony Hopkins and Actress Jodie Foster. I even had my note book and pen out trying to make some notes putting myself in the FBI seat!

Didn't work in U.S. format. Wish it would have said that on the order details but it would let me play it on my ps4. Anyone know how to change the area format on a t.v. dvd combo?

It didn't work...it apparently said incorrect region...I never saw that pop up on my selection... hopefully will get a shipping return label and can get a movie that plays in the U.S...
