Southern Foam Memory Foam Mattress Topper, 4 Inch, UK Single

We purchased this product after reading all of the positive reviews... worst decision ever! We have a seven month old baby and were just adding some finishing touches and thought we would get two of the mattress toppers for two of our mattresses. My husband had a headache the first night and the second night I experienced a severe headache and felt very unwell. I was very worried for my young baby and we had to drag both of the mattress toppers off of both beds at 2am in the morning due to the fumes from these awful items. We aired the product appropriately before use but we still experienced problems. After leaving them for two weeks airing in the annexe my husband tried again only to suffer the same fate. I would not chance it. The WORST investment ever. HEALTH HAZARD!

Well I was a bit skeptical about buying this as I've heard a lot of negative reports on memory foam on TV. I took a breath looked at a load of competitors and took the plunge. It was either buy a very expensive mattress again or extend with a foam topper. I'm glad I went with the latter. I thought they had sent the wrong product but after reading the blurb which says wait several hours to allow expansion, it did expand to the dimensions ordered. Well the proof is in the pudding and i'm a very picky sleeper when it comes to comfort so tried it out for a few days and well, I should have done it months ago. Well worth the investment and the cover is an added bonus as some of them just come as. Thanks for a good night sleep again. :)

I recently purchased a new 4ft base and mattress and have been regretting my decision ever since I have been waking up with terrible pains in my joints and had difficulty in getting out of bed. I had strong reservations about this purchase, hardly thinking that a 4" layer of foam could do me much good. How wrong I was ! The topper comes with a luxury zipped cover which is lovely and cool to the touch. I've read other reviews where people have complained about the strong smell from the 'topper' itself but I can honestly say there was no smell whatsoever. I opened the parcel and opened the topper and left it on top of my mattress for some 15 hours, and then made my bed. The first night's sleep was pure bliss and gave me the best night's sleep I've had for many years. It's early days yet but I feel confident this is a top quality product that will serve me for many years to come. I'm taking the precaution of folding my duvet and top sheet all the way down to the foot of my bed, to allow the topper to recover it's full shape, but I might be wasting my time - by the time I stand up out of bed and have a stretch, I can see that the topper has already fully recovered its shape !

My husband had a strong allergic reaction to this mattress with wheezing, runny eyes and itchy nose - even being in the same room was unbearable for him. I contacted the manufacturer who said that it had been tested, passed the buck, and said that I should raise the issue directly with Amazon. I didn't proceed as it was too bulky to send back. It has an extremely strong chemical smell which has permeated the mattress underneath, pillows and bedsheets. I gladly got rid of it after just two weeks. £85 very badly spent.

I bought this topper a year ago after reading the great reviews & at first it felt great but now a year on its rubbish (and has been rubbish for at least 6 months!) It moves on the bed, bits keep falling off & it feels like you're sliding into the middle of the bed even though the existing bed & mattress was bought at the same time!

Useless, this memory foam mattress arrives with dementia.You sink into the middle of the bed, so does not support, feels like sleeping in a deflated airbed.Could not send back as cut to fit bed!!I recommend Bodymould memory foam, also bought on Amazon, that will give you the best nights sleep ever!

Having debated buying one of these for what seems like 2 years, I finally took the plunge and bought one, to arrive on my birthday at the beginning of April.For the last 4/5 years, I've been having terrible back pain, lower, middle, upper and my other half had recently started experiencing pains in her lower back as well. With all the sleepless nights, I really don't know why it took me so long to buy it. I bought a really good bed and firm mattress 3 years back and have hardly slept on it.Having read the reviews on here, I was a little worried as one said that that it had kick started bad allergies off in them - my fiancee is allergic to all animals apart from fish, she has food intolerance's and has asthma - so I was a tad worried.But I then thought that for £75, it's worth trying.On it's arrival, we both had bad colds and we were sleeping in separate beds - as I was snoring my head off! So this gave us an opportunity to unravel the topper and we were able to let it air for 6 days in a well ventilated room.Well, since we've been sleeping on it, boy have we been sleeping! Now when I wake up, it's not from a sore back and I soon get back to sleep. She's sleeping like a baby too. I look forward to sleeping on this topper. There's occasionally a slight odour from the material but you know what? It doesn't affect us at all and the sleep is amazing.I wake up and can get straight out of bed without reaching for my back whilst moaning and groaning. It's like waking up 10 years younger every day!Buy one, they're great, I just wish I'd bought one years ago.

When they recommend to air the product to get rid of the "new" smell they mean it. "New" smell resembles an overpowering damp smell that has penetrated my entire house. For the first week, I had the best nights sleep each night but after a week it seemed to loose its density and makes my back ache.
