but they are still a good value way of turning a carpeted (or hard) floored ...
Does the job for a low price. I was wondering if these mats would have a rubbery feel or be a slippy, plastic-smooth surface: they are actually somewhere inbetween, but more slippy than rubbery. I found wiping the mats with dilute dish-soapy water improved the grip by removing what seemed to be a thin coating from manufacture, and that also improved the smell.I found it moves a lot on top of the carpet when exercising, so i got the William Armes rug stop to go under it: the Rug Stop greatly improves the movement of the flooring over carpet, but not completely. Rug stop is almost the same size as the 16 mats (4x4) that i have set-up. I have some heavy weights on two corners to help stop the mat movement, but the "jigsaw" joins pull apart gradually as a result (the join isn't strong enough to transfer the forces that keep those corners in place to the rest of the mat during exercise). So, some minor problems when using on carpet, but they are still a good value way of turning a carpeted (or hard) floored surface into an exercise space - just don't expect a rubbery surface, and check out the William Armes rug stop to help movement of the mats when used on carpet.

Decent for a home gym, but definitely smelly
These seem fairly decent for a home gym, on a concrete floor. They are by NO means possible to use as a replacement for proper gym/stall mats / tatami matts. BUT, if you don't plan to drop weights on the floor as part of your daily exercise routine, they should do.To give a sense of their resistance, you can EASILY compress them to about 1 or 2mm between your thumb and forefinger. However, put them on the concrete, punch them semi-hard, and it feels more like a punching bag than concrete.BE WARNED: they ARE very smelly. Like, you can smell the chemicals before you open the pack, and can still smell them from upstairs after putting them in a downstairs room with the window open. I can't see if/when that will go away, as yet. It's a fairly strong, chemically/burnt tyres sort of smell.

Kinda slippery...
I got these for the spare room in my flat and they arrived soooooo quickly which was great, but the only thing I don't like about them is that they are really slippery. I bought them so I could protect my spare room carpet as I have a free standing boxing bag and weights bench in there, but they are pretty slippery if you don't wear shoes so I can't really practice my footwork properly on them. I kinda thought they would've been a bit heavier duty but they are really lightweight foam, but they do protect my carpet from being worn down by my boxing bag and weights which is definitely a plus!

Brilliant for a garage
Easy to lay and very comfortable underfoot. Excellent value for money to cover my garage floor

easy to lay and fit
easy to use and easy to cut when squaring off a room, i only gave 4 stars due to them having a chemical smell that takes a few days to disappear. The product its self is very good and can lay the floor in quick time along as its even, they are very warm too i used them in a converted garage/ man cave and they have kept the floor dry and warm

Here's another use for them !!!
I've found that a combination of dementia, a deep pile fitted bedroom carpet and an en-suite bathroom can, in the early hours of the morning, be a bad combination - even with an extremely effective VAX carpet cleaner on permanent standby.I'm sure I don't have to spell out the details...These fully interlocking mats are an ideal solution as they don't 'leak' and, when necessary, can easily be mopped over. The only problem was that the carpet tended to make them 'walk' so that the interlocking tiles came apart in places. The solution was to use the remaining couple of rolls of the Scotch Brown C5066T6 packaging tape left over from last year's move.On the underside of the tiles of course...

Great SOUNDPROOFING for electronic drum kit and amplifier
Interlocking Gym Garage Anti Fatigue Flooring Play Mats 48sqft D- easimat branded I took a bit of a chance when I bought this item to hopefully silence the noise of a bass drum pedal and a high hat pedal on an electronic drum kit, as I couldn't really afford the expensive, professional soundproofing available elsewhere. It has made quite a bit of difference, although I had to put 2 mats on top of each other as they are a bit thin otherwise...and nothing seems to move when using the drums. We've also used a single mat layer under the Xbox 360 drums and pedal, which dampens the sound sufficiently on that.

For those knitters using their ironing board for blocking
I guess these mats are multi-fabulous, i'm an avid knitter and admit i don't block as much as i should because i didn't have enough space, well now i do, these locked together are super huge (i am using only 4 of the mats - the other 8 are in storage) i can dig my pins in to the mats when stretching garments and they don't look awful afterwards i am so happy i have somewhere other than my ironing board - so if you are a knitter and the only reason you are not blocking is lack of a suitable place to block here is the answer!!!
