Very good snails
My wife and I love snails in garlic butter when on holiday and so thought that we'd try these. There were 27 in the can so good for a starter for four or main meal for two with lots of chunky bread to mop up the garlic butter. There is no need to buy shells unless you want the experience of dewinkelling the snails at the dining table. We simply fried the snails in garlic butter (best make your own if you want like lots of garlic like what we do!) and serve in a dish made for snails.

Terrible!
Pretty awful! We are great fans of snails - always eat them in Spain or France. These were grim - tough, tasteless and bland - and very expensive at that!. Followed the instructions for garlic butter etc exactly. Will not try again.

snails, death and dating
So, I thought I would try a new thing by ordering snails. I had never had snails before and decided this would be a good opportunity to branch out into new cuisine. This was a bad idea... I followed instructions and consumed the snails alongside some pasta, garlic and mushrooms. This was delightful and the snails tasted like meaty mushrooms and were most pleasant. After this I went to the pub, with a rather attractive young lady and some other people. I experienced coughing and slight discomfort on my way to the pub. This was warnings of things yet to come.Once at the pub, I ordered a pint and proceeded to feel rather unwell almost as if having the flu. I decided after finishing my pint to go home and have an early night, these plans were foiled. On my way back, the aforementioned attractive young lady texted me to see if the present company had irritated me to the point of my swift departure, I told her no, and that I felt like I was going to pass out. She said that she thought I was having an allergic reaction and also swiftly the pub to get me medication. After seeing the snails again (yes I mean that they came back for an encore [yes I am refering to vomiting]) I proceeded to crawl to the landing and was struggling to breathe, the young lady arrived to find me collapsed on me landing and then proceeded to hyperventilate and call an ambulance. The man arrived and discovered, much to his amusement, that I am allergic to snails.I ended up going in an ambulance to A and E to get checked over, where they stuck 12 extra metal nipples (for the ECG monitor). They ended up giving me antihystemines and sending me home.Cut later to a while a later and I and the rather young lady are courting, for this reason I am giving these snails four stars, for although they nearly killed me, they did manage to gain me a very beautiful girlfriend.

Ohh La la. Little tin with a big portion of 12 snails.
Crammed with 12 snails.Followed a recipe for garlic and herbs and white wine. Even still found they had an earthy musty flavor more than i noticed eating them at a restaurant. But then at a restaurant the snails had no taste.I am sure the idea is for them to taste of something else what would be the point. But will be adding more garlic next time and allow longer to marinate in the fridge before putting in the oven.
