Great value for money
I have used Marcos for years now as a base for my colouring. Why waste expensive pencils on the first few layers when you can make use of these. I got them in the sale but they are good value even at full price. It even included a pencil sharpener, an eraser, a craft knife and a pencil extender. The little roll case is included as well. If you are working to a fixed price range you could do a lot worse than this 72 pack.

the Worst art supply I ever wasted money on.
These pencils are not as great as the utube reviews say because quite a large number of them crumbled and would not sharpen. I used a lot of sharpeners trying to find one that matched them but even my best sharpeners couldn’t form a point because the leads were offset from central and the actual leads were extremely dried out and turned to a few flakey shards that fall out of the wood casing. Some of the colours were ok but are very transparent. I don’t know if I got a bad set or if I believed the Australian utube colorist who reviews them is paid or sponsored to give great reviews but her reviews are far from honest. I have a degree in fine art and did most of my huge portraits using colour pencils , I passed with a first so I’m not inexperienced and I would not give these to a child. I didn’t see a safety standard on them. When you are shading the brights such as cadmium yellow or red, orange, fuschia have hardly any pigment and are extra waxy which produces a blotchy colour. The dark colours are not dense either I believe they have far too much wax filler and hardly any pigment. In adult colouring books they transfer to the opposite picture and if I use my fixative the pigment leaches out from the was and makes an awful mess on the page. Some of the pencils had shattered cores and no points when they arrived the sharpener included probably cost 10 p to make, it split in two while sharpening the pale blue pencil. The pencil roll came with a stuck together presstud which was not attached to the actual canvas side and the faux leather strap was not long enough to have reached to where the stud should have been attatched.I really hate leaving bad reviews for a product that I really wanted to love , because I draw A1 pictures I really wanted to like these because they would have saved me so much money and I would have been able to sell for much less cash than I normally charge which I thought would get me more commissions but instead I basically lost out because I bought a set of pencils which are for all drawing/colouring purposes absolutely useless. They are not fit for use by anyone young or old.Yes you can smudge one colour into another but they do not blend properly as a lot of times if you try to layer blue on top of yellow to fade into the distance the blue removes the yellow wax from the paper and leaves just blue.Black widow pencils are much more pigmented, blend ok for wax which is not renowned for blending, and you can colour after one sharpening for much longer than with these MR pencils.Marco Raffine behaves like cheap wax crayons that have been melted down then encased in wood . Some colours are extra brittle and some too mushy with so much wax they flake off the paper. The case is absolutely a waste of money as it was already broken. If I were selling these in a shop I would charge £1.50 and not buy new stock. They were /are the worst art material I have owned ever.Absolutely avoid wasting £20 go buy two sets of Black widows if you really want wax pencils.

Great piece of kit if you want quality and value
Got thus to use as part of my travel kit. It is a good piece of kit and has sections for eraser and sharpener. It hold the pencils snuggly, I do have 3 loose hoops, but they still hold the pencils tight enough. The material is soft and easy to roll when filled up, I personally find the ties a little rough in my hand, but I do have disabilities that have resulted in very sensitive skin. The pencils are a brand I have not used before, but I have found them to be good quality, which blend nicely if using hatching or a blending pencil, but they are not for me, if I am to be honest, I have another brand which I absolutely love, so I am biased. This pouch and pencil set is good quality and great value for money, ideal for anyone wanting a little travel set in one purchase.

Great for the price
These came super quick. The delivery was great as they arrived less than 24 hours after ordering which I didn’t expect due to the current situation. The pencils themselves seem to be working fine so far. I’ve had a little play about with them. They’re not as good as the more expensive brands (obviously), but for the price I really can’t complain. It takes a bit more work to blend and build the colours and you do have to apply quite a bit of pressure to make the colours more bold but honestly, these are a really good set for the price. They blow all the other budget pencils out of the water in my opinion. If you’re not wanting to spend too much money but still want good results, I would 100% recommend these pencils.

QUALITY
Such a wide range of colours, never trouble finding the right shade, the colours are bright and vivid and the leather case for all the pencils has a super professional feel. Also comes with a small knife, perfect for when you want your pencil tip to be perfectly sharp for those smaller details. All in all high quality and great feel and for the price I’d say great value too.WARNING! If you’re buying this for a small child make sure YOU OPEN THE PACKAGE and remove the knife from the set, don’t want any little ones getting hurt!
